The Island Packet 27 features the highly successful Island Packet design concept that combines a modern full keel with handsome traditional styling, a versatile, easily managed rig, and an unusually spacious interior. The moderate draft full keel give the IP27 capability for bluewater passages as well as exploring shallow coastal waters. "Island Star" is offered for sale by her owners. Meticulously cared for. She has always been a freshwater vessel.
On deck, The Island Packet 27 features a wide bowsprit anchor platform, raised bulwarks, premium course diamond nonskid, full length cabin top handrails, and double bow and stern rails with double lifelines for secure deck work. The roomy cockpit features contoured seats with deep coming backrests, a comfortable helm seat, large seat locker, and loose gear tray, cockpit icebox water-tight access hatch, and rack & pinion geared wheel and steering for precise feel and reliability.
The spacious interior layout provided by the broad beam design offers an exceptional amount of room and livability. The forward cabin features a large V-berth with an overhead hatch and draw curtain to the main salon, making a bright, comfortable and well ventilated private cabin. There is storage underneath the berth.
The spacious salon features a drop leaf teak table that folds against a bulkhead mounted rack leaving an unobstructed teak and holly sole almost 4' wide. The starboard settee pulls out to form a double, and both settees have additional storage areas under and behind the cushions.
The head compartment features a vanity with hot & cold pressure water tap and combined shower unit. The head is equipped with an electric marine toilet. A large cedar lined hanging locker is outboard of the vanity. Ample light and ventilation are provided by an opening port, overhead hatch and louvered teak door to the salon.
The quarter-berth area includes a cabinet with the electric distribution panels and room for additional Nav equipment. An opening port thru the foot well provides flow-thru ventilation.
The L-shaped galley features a large ice box with shelf, two burner propane range with cutting board top, deep stainless steel sink, and a teak dish rack with cutlery drawers, tilt-out trash bin, and ample storage space above and below counter. Hot & cold pressure water and a manual pump are included.
Broker's Comment: A few years ago I listed a very nice Islander 28 that was a nice as a 1985 could be. Lots of refits and careful attention to her bright work, hull and VC17 bottom. Craig was the kind of guy you want to buy a boat from. Pretty much turn key...clean and well maintained. He then purchased the Island Packet he has just listed. It was a 1 owner boat always here in Erie's fresh water. Her sellers were moving on to another phase in their lives and the boat only needed TLC...the kind Craig would provide. When I saw it recently and took the pictures, I hardly recognized the boat. Wow! He did it again.
