The Hylas H49 is a clever improvement on Sparkman & Stephens 47. The sleek sugar scoop houses a generous stern locker commonly referred to as "the garage," as well as great access to the water for swimming and when boarding the dinghy. Generous overhangs bow and stern look traditionally stylish, and allow the yacht to surpass hull speed easily on a regular basis. To starboard, the linear walkthrough galley is positioned for secure meal preparation underway and leads aft into the private owner’s cabin with island queen berth and en-suite head. Forward of the salon, a separate guest area includes a V-berth stateroom, a port bunk cabin, and a second head.
