"Juniper" is a fine example of this popular Doug Hylan "Bowler" design and was lovingly crafted by her owner, William Cass, launched in July, 2024. She has seen very little use and is in pristene, like-new condition. She is powered with a 50 HP Suzuki outboard engine located in a well and the motor is easily accessible from the cockpit.
She sleeps two in a vee berth and has a fresh water flush toilet and a modest galley and is the perfect small craft for gunkholing along the scenic New England Coast. Imagine waking up in a secluded cove aboard this traditional cruiser and enjoying your morning coffee in the large and comfortable cockpit.
"Juniper" is ready to go for day trips, sunset cruises with friends or cruising along the coast.
"Juniper" features a large cockpit with bench seating aft, a seat to port of the helm, in the "pilot house" and plenty of room for deck chairs in the cockpit. The cockpit also has a full canvas enclosere so the forward end can be include as "interior" space while at anchor, cruising.
Through the companionway and down one step, the cabin features a sink to port and a marine toilet to starboard with a fold-down cover to form a seat. Forward is the Vee-berth which will comfortably sleep two people. Cushions were new in 2025.

"Juniper" is constructed of a combination of Atlantic white cedar planking, marine grade plywood and laminated Douglas Fir stem and framing, with epoxy adhesives. The hull is sheathed with Dynel polyester with epoxy resin.
Planking: Topside planking is edge glued strip planked Atlantic White Cedar. Bottom Planking is marine plywood, 3/4" in total thickness.
Framing: Inner stem, outer stem, and keel are constructed of laminated Douglas fir, using expoxy resin. Floor timbers are solid Douglas fir.
Decking: Foredeck, aft deck, and cockpit sole are marine plywood sheathed with Dynel polyester and epoxy supported by Douglas fir beams.
Interior: The interior is constructed of marine grade plywood.
