Easygoing Cruising!

Choose the Hunter 41 and be prepared for sailing ease with performance.

Awesome sail plan and superior exterior safety features. Strategic rigging placement keeps the deck clean while the standard cockpit arch positions the traveler up and out of the way while also providing bimini, stereo speaker and overhead lighting connections.

The Hunter 41AC features superb interior design, featuring an elegant salon, high-gloss table and custom window treatments, plus zoned overhead lighting. The galley features a stainless steel refrigerator/ freezer cleverly housed beneath the Corian countertop, along with a pantry and custom backsplash.

The aft master suite with queen berth offers drawer storage, a vanity and entry to the head. The forward stateroom has a double berth, vanity, storage and private head with shower.

Hunter Aft Cockpit Cruisers are perfect whether you are banging around the buoys on the weekends, or making an extended passage to new ports of call. These innovative cruisers feature sleek performance hulls above and gracious, comfortable accommodations below.

These boats were drawn by noted designer Glenn Henderson and sport some rather intricate features for your comfort, safety and enjoyment. First is a "Bow Hollow", which increases the flow of water in the forward sections and increases hull speed. Second is a "Stern Reflex", which allows a flatter exit wake and less turbulence. This also increases performance.

Hunter has learned much from their IOR boats and has incorporated some into cruising boats to enhance their performance without sacrificing comfort and the ease of sailing. Why not add a little more speed if you can?

Below, the Hunter 41 offers superior amenities and comfort. Unique stateroom layouts provide plenty of space and storage. Salons are full beam and allow for entertaining and dining in grand style.

The master staterooms are enhanced by carrying the wide beam well aft. Inner spring mattresses are standard and the finely finished teak interior and cabinetry are first-class. Upgraded hardware and fabrics really make a difference.

The Biggest Pros and Cons

The 2004 Hunter 41 is a popular cruising sailboat known for its blend of performance, comfort, and innovative design features. Here are some of the key pros and cons to consider:

Pros

Spacious and Comfortable Interior: The Hunter 41 offers a roomy cabin with a well-thought-out layout, including a large salon, comfortable sleeping quarters, and ample storage, making it ideal for extended cruising.

Innovative B&R Rig: The boat features Hunter’s signature B&R rig, which eliminates the backstay and allows for a larger roach on the mainsail, improving sail area and performance.

Easy Handling: With features like a roller furling jib and optional autopilot systems, the Hunter 41 is designed for ease of handling, especially attractive to short-handed crews or cruising couples.

Good Performance: While designed primarily for cruising, the 2004 Hunter 41 offers respectable sailing performance, combining stability with responsive handling.

Walk-Through Transom: The transom design provides easy access to the water and dinghy, enhancing safety and convenience.

Cons

Build Quality Variability: Some owners have noted inconsistencies in build quality, which may require attention or upgrades depending on the specific boat's maintenance history.

Less Traditional Aesthetics: The modern styling and design choices, such as the B&R rig and broad beam, may not appeal to sailors who prefer classic sailboat lines.

Limited Upwind Performance: While competent, the boat’s design prioritizes cruising comfort over racing performance, which can result in less optimal upwind sailing compared to more performance-oriented yachts.

Maintenance of Systems: Some of the onboard systems and fittings, particularly those unique to Hunter models, may require specialized knowledge or parts, potentially complicating repairs.

Made For

The 2004 Hunter 41 is designed for sailors and cruising enthusiasts seeking a spacious and comfortable vessel for extended coastal or offshore adventures. Ideal for couples, small families, or groups of friends, it offers a perfect blend of performance, ease of handling, and onboard amenities.
