This is a very well cared for, professionally maintained, clean, Hunter 380.

She has the two-cabin layout with a comfortable queen-sized berth in the roomy aft cabin. She has been maintained by professionals and is in excellent condition.  When ordered new, she was built with a companionway traveler in lieu of the unsightly arch that spans the cockpit on most 380’s. This was also the only year with the preferred Selden mast.

Fully equipped with electronics, including radar, reverse-cycle heat/air conditioning, an electric halyard winch that also controls the mainsheet and reef lines, Tides Marine mainsail track and a custom extended bimini to name just a few of her many features.

This is a well loved boat that is offered regretfully due to health reasons.  Currently on land, rig down.

The Biggest Pros and Cons

The 1999 Hunter 380 is a popular cruising sailboat known for its comfortable design and solid performance. Here are some of the pros and cons to consider:

Pros

Spacious Interior: The Hunter 380 offers a roomy cabin with ample headroom, making extended cruising comfortable for families or small groups.

Innovative Design: Features like the B&R rigging system provide a stable and easy-to-handle sail plan, reducing the need for a backstay and simplifying sail adjustments.

Comfortable Cockpit: The cockpit is designed for ease of use and comfort, with good seating and thoughtful layout for socializing or handling sails.

Good Storage: Plenty of storage space both below decks and on deck helps keep the boat organized during longer trips.

Affordable Maintenance: The fiberglass construction and widely available parts make upkeep relatively straightforward and cost-effective.

Cons

Performance Limitations: While stable and easy to sail, the Hunter 380 may not be as fast or agile as some other boats in its class, especially in light winds.

Build Quality Variations: As with many production boats from this era, some owners report inconsistencies in build quality, so condition can vary depending on maintenance history.

Tank Capacities: The fresh water and fuel tanks are somewhat modest in size, which might require more frequent stops on longer voyages.

Limited Upwind Ability: The B&R rig, while easy to handle, can sometimes limit upwind sailing efficiency compared to traditional rigs.

Aging Systems: Being a 1999 model, some onboard systems and equipment may be outdated and could require upgrades or replacements.

Made For
