The Hunter 28 offers a weekend and vacation gathering home afloat where the family will find a peaceful yet exciting environment away from the day-to-day hustle. Hunter calls it a family refreshing. You'll call it sensational because it was created for comfort and pleasure as well as performance.
Hunter's interior design challenge was not to make furniture fit, but to make people fit. The refreshing spaciousness of the open, airy cabin gives seating and sleeping comfort for six. The huge horseshoe salon is adjacent to the L-shaped galley with stove, easy access icebox and hot pressure water on tap. The head is aft and so large it incorporates a separate shower seat. The aft cabin sleeps athwartships and assures privacy with a teak bi-fold door. There is a diesel heating system for the cabin!
On deck you'll find the comfort of a deep, well-shaped cockpit with Hunter's popular walk-through transom and integrated swim platform. Her sailing character has been finely honed with double spreader fractional rig and Hunter's slippery, stabilizing bulb-wing keel. The combination of easy sailing and brisk performance extend the enjoyment from day-sailing to distant vacation cruising.
Avocet is in the water, but has not been cleaned from storage. The sails are not yet bent on.
