FREYA has had an interesting life. She was first launched in 1940 and soon thereafter was conscripted to serve with the US Navy in and around Tacoma and Bremerton until late 1944. Freya participated several times in the Capital-to-Capital race that ran from Olympia, WA to Juneau, AK. She has been to Alaska 11 times plus many voyages up the Inside Passage to Price Rupert, the Broughton group, etc. She recently completed a several month mechanical and structural refit and is ready to cruise. More details on her history and recent work available.
From the aft deck you step down and into a comfortable aft cabin that contains a large galley, dinette table and head compartments. The sink counter is to starboard, and the stove is to port. Forward of the stove is the dinette and the head compartment is located on the starboard.
Moving forward and up a couple of steps you are in the wheelhouse which contains an L shaped settee, steering, engine and navigation equipment. Large windows and two sliding doors bring in plenty of light and is an excellent place to sit and watch the sites go by. Forward and down is the main sleeping compartment with a double berth, drawers below to port and hanging locker to starboard.
There is a small, covered cockpit aft. The larger tender is towed behind and the smaller sits in a cradle on the aft cabin and is launched with a manual davit. The kayak sits atop the wheelhouse.
