In 1987 Hatteras stepped up to the design plate and updated this beauty to a "new-look." She has a nice stepped sheer line with a rakish bridge that looks great. The bow stateroom is very roomy and has plenty of storage compartments, drawers, and closets. The galley is very well equipped and has an open feel with a nice counter bar top with two stools.
BUT this is no ordinary Hatteras!! As the name suggests "Designoar" is a design masterpiece! This boat was completely gutted in 2008. The design team went into overdrive on this boat and you won't EVER see another like it. The interior this boat is beautifully done, as the owner is a custom cabinet maker. All new appliances were installed during this refit. There was no expense spared and workmanship this fine is not often found.
The salon is very inviting. The new flat screen TV sits forward on the port side along with two barrel chairs and a side table. The L-shaped sofa sits on the port side aft. The cockpit is very large for a 41 footer and works great for entertaining your guests or your fishing buddies.
The custom overhead sun screen comes in handy for those hot sunny days. The cabinetry houses a freezer, a tackle center, storage, and a sink. Up the ladder to the bridge is a breeze. The hand holds-railing works well. The bridge can accommodate many guests with ample seating for about 10 people. The captain and mate seats have nice access to the equipment and electronics as well as great sight lines all around.
