Here she is, one of the early battle-wagons built by Hatteras. She is the classic sport fishing boat with a high fore-deck leading to a very large cockpit. Its built on a solid glass hull with a modified-V hull for good sea-keeping qualities. You enter the expansive salon on the port side which opens up to a sofa and opposing chairs for lounging. Forward has a large shelf below the windshields and an abundance of storage areas. Just a few steps down the Galley is to starboard with stand up fridge, a very large sink, plenty of cabinets and counter space. Opposite to port is a bunk room and day head. Forward is the master V-Berth with hull side storage and drawers under the berths. The bridge is a bit small but has a captains and companions seating behind the console that has nice visibility to the cockpit. A small bench seat faces forward.
She is powered with a pair of Detroit 871 Naturals with about 700 hours SMOH. The motors have had the cooling systems run through incli\uding cleaning the heat exchagers, replacing water pumps or impellers, new thru hull sea cocks and hoses. This owner runs her about 8-10 knots burning only 6-7 gph. He has had the boat for years and put over 350 hours on her. The interior is in pretty good condition although a bit dated. The bottom was stripped, all blisters repaired, barrier coated and painted with ablative years ago. There was some water intrusion on the fore-deck around the windlass that was completely taken out, foam coring put in and re-glassed last year. It still needs some paint. The teal cockpit is what it is. It feels solid but Im sure there is water due to the teak fasteners.
If youre looking for a project then check this out. She has solid bones just waiting for some updates. You could run her as she is or put some time into the cosmetics and put your mark on her. The owner has his new boat and wants this boat to go now. Make your best offer and drive her away. Give me a call for details.
