GALLEY
The âJâ? shaped galley is a shipboard gourmetâs delight. Conveniently located near the companionway to starboard, making food service a breeze to the cockpit or the salon dining table. The island portion of the galley braces the chef to make food prep safe and easy in any seaway without the need for a safety harness. Thereâs generous storage surrounding the sink and stove for galley-ware and a set of 5 drawers with a cutting board provides cutlery storage. Under the sink and island counter there are additional shelves for utensils and dry storage. Countertops are white in plastic laminate trimmed out with handhold fiddles
HULL AND DECK
Isophtalic gelcoat and isopolyester resins and fiberglass are used in the solid fiberglass lay-up below the waterline where itâs also treated with two coats of two-part epoxy primer and two coats of antifouling paint. Blue boot top is gelcoat. Inside the hull, heavy fiberglass transverse and longitudinal stringers are finished out in a service gelcoat to allow for additional storage in the bilge areas making it perfect for those extra provisions that need to remain cool. The keel ballast is lead with oversized stainless steel bolts. The rudder blade is constructed of heavy stainless steel frame webbing surrounded by fiberglass attached to the 80mm rudder shaft and the rudder is hung on extra heavy cast bronze fittings. A heavy integral rubstrake built into the hull has a brass strike under the blue cove stripe.
The hull, deck, and cabin top layup schedule includes the highest quality isopthalic gel coat, isopolyester resins, and additional layers of hand laid fiberglass cloth with additional reinforcement in areas of extra stress loads includes a layer of Divnylcell insulating cloth which forms a thermal insulating barrier to the inside of the boat. This assures that humidity; heat and cold are under control and wonât support mildew or mold. In addition, the inside of the hull is lined with battens offset to the hull with scantlings surrounding the interior of the hull providing additional airflow throughout the interior of the boat.
The hull to deck joint is completely glassed over and forms a low bulwark. The hull and deck then become one large shell capable of withstanding tremendous loads and prevents joint leaks. The heavy bulkheads are also glassed into place prior to any interior joinery, machinery, tankage, etc. being installed. Each of the yachtâs interior components and machinery are lowered down the companionway during initial construction. This assures a future owner that should it ever be necessary to remove or replace any items below it is easily accomplished
Two large lazerettes aft provide generous storage on deck for lines, fenders, etc. In addition, the self-draining anchor locker forward is divided and provides additional stowage for fenders and lines. A draining propane locker is on the starboard side. The cockpit has a huge locker to starboard, which conveniently stows plenty of safety gear, folding dinghy, built-in hatch board storage, etc. The deck and cockpit each have four scuppers that drain deck water below the waterline to prevent hull staining.
Teak decks are of the highest quality Bangkok teak screwed and glued as an overlay on a solid fiberglass and PVC foam deck to ensure against leaks.

Seldén oversized s/s wire rigging with a removable cutter stay for heavy weather sailing that parks nicely at the base of the mast when not in use. Seldén double spreader rig; Seldén Furlex spars of anodized aluminum alloy; mast extrusion has separate internal wire conduits. Hasselfors turnbuckles of high quality stainless steel with aluminum sleeve protectors; jib and mainsail halyards; spinnaker pole mounted on face of mast with topping lift; flag halyards. Halyard winches: two Lewmar 44 CST self-tailing. One Lewmar 8C for lifting the spinnaker pole.
The mast features a Seldén Furling hydraulic in-mast furler and is stepped on the coach roof with a solid laminated teak compression post that carries all compression loads directly through the cabin to the keel. This eliminates any possible mast compression of the cabin and mast leaks to the inside of the boat and it also facilitates the rig being stepped to clear bridges. The chain plates are secured to the insulated hull through angled guides so all in-line loads are straight throughout their length.
Boom has two slab reef points; reef winch is a Lewmar 16 C.The boom is provided with a hydraulic outhaul and a Selden Rodkick w/gas spring (vang). This proven long life diesel has operated flawlessly while receiving professional maintenance including regular oil changes as recorded in the yachts' service records. Her 8kw 220v Westerbeke generator has operated flawlessly since new. It too has been serviced (8.8.08) to the same standard as her auxiliary engine. Extensive spares inventory convey for her engine, generator, and all other ship's systems such as the watermaker, etc.
MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT
The engine room is an engineerâs delight. Whenever possible, all systems are located in the engine room where they are isolated and insulated against sound yet allowed to âbreatheâ? fresh outside air to maintain lower operating temps. Attention to detail is paramount. The aft masterâs stateroom is expansive and elegantly appointed. Storage lockers surround the outboard sides and there are hanging lockers, mirrored vanity, and a large head compartment with a separate shower stall, mirror, vanity with storage lockers and a china wash basin.
Her spacious Interior is beautifully crafted in âbook-matchedâ? teak panels and solid teak (a factory upgrade). Accents include chrome reading lamps, chrome overhead halogen lighting, indirect valance lighting, custom interior beige curtains, teak and holly sole. As on all Hallberg-Rassyâs, storage abounds behind settees, in outboard lockers, and behind and under the easy chairs, settees, and berths⦠truly no space is wasted⦠even bilge compartments are service coated to provide additional cool storage for bulk items.
Tastefully appointed with attention to detail, one will find small features such as hull battens on scantlings in teak to provide full circulating airflow throughout the boat, curtained opening ports and hatches, a Divnylcell hull insulated against heat and cold, generous amounts of light and fresh air, extra length berths, and HRâs tradition of placing mechanical systems in the ventilated engine compartment that is insulated and isolated against heat, noise, and vibration.
GALLEY
The âJâ? shaped galley is a shipboard gourmetâs delight. Conveniently located near the companionway to starboard, making food service a breeze to the cockpit or the salon dining table. The island portion of the galley braces the chef to make food prep safe and easy in any seaway without the need for a safety harness. Thereâs generous storage surrounding the sink and stove for galley-ware and a set of 5 drawers with a cutting board provides cutlery storage. Under the sink and island counter there are additional shelves for utensils and dry storage. Countertops are white in plastic laminate trimmed out with handhold fiddles
HULL AND DECK
Isophtalic gelcoat and isopolyester resins and fiberglass are used in the solid fiberglass lay-up below the waterline where itâs also treated with two coats of two-part epoxy primer and two coats of antifouling paint. Blue boot top is gelcoat. Inside the hull, heavy fiberglass transverse and longitudinal stringers are finished out in a service gelcoat to allow for additional storage in the bilge areas making it perfect for those extra provisions that need to remain cool. The keel ballast is lead with oversized stainless steel bolts. The rudder blade is constructed of heavy stainless steel frame webbing surrounded by fiberglass attached to the 80mm rudder shaft and the rudder is hung on extra heavy cast bronze fittings. A heavy integral rubstrake built into the hull has a brass strike under the blue cove stripe.
The hull, deck, and cabin top layup schedule includes the highest quality isopthalic gel coat, isopolyester resins, and additional layers of hand laid fiberglass cloth with additional reinforcement in areas of extra stress loads includes a layer of Divnylcell insulating cloth which forms a thermal insulating barrier to the inside of the boat. This assures that humidity; heat and cold are under control and wonât support mildew or mold. In addition, the inside of the hull is lined with battens offset to the hull with scantlings surrounding the interior of the hull providing additional airflow throughout the interior of the boat.
The hull to deck joint is completely glassed over and forms a low bulwark. The hull and deck then become one large shell capable of withstanding tremendous loads and prevents joint leaks. The heavy bulkheads are also glassed into place prior to any interior joinery, machinery, tankage, etc. being installed. Each of the yachtâs interior components and machinery are lowered down the companionway during initial construction. This assures a future owner that should it ever be necessary to remove or replace any items below it is easily accomplished
Two large lazerettes aft provide generous storage on deck for lines, fenders, etc. In addition, the self-draining anchor locker forward is divided and provides additional stowage for fenders and lines. A draining propane locker is on the starboard side. The cockpit has a huge locker to starboard, which conveniently stows plenty of safety gear, folding dinghy, built-in hatch board storage, etc. The deck and cockpit each have four scuppers that drain deck water below the waterline to prevent hull staining.
Teak decks are of the highest quality Bangkok teak screwed and glued as an overlay on a solid fiberglass and PVC foam deck to ensure against leaks.

Seldén oversized s/s wire rigging with a removable cutter stay for heavy weather sailing that parks nicely at the base of the mast when not in use. Seldén double spreader rig; Seldén Furlex spars of anodized aluminum alloy; mast extrusion has separate internal wire conduits. Hasselfors turnbuckles of high quality stainless steel with aluminum sleeve protectors; jib and mainsail halyards; spinnaker pole mounted on face of mast with topping lift; flag halyards. Halyard winches: two Lewmar 44 CST self-tailing. One Lewmar 8C for lifting the spinnaker pole.
The mast features a Seldén Furling hydraulic in-mast furler and is stepped on the coach roof with a solid laminated teak compression post that carries all compression loads directly through the cabin to the keel. This eliminates any possible mast compression of the cabin and mast leaks to the inside of the boat and it also facilitates the rig being stepped to clear bridges. The chain plates are secured to the insulated hull through angled guides so all in-line loads are straight throughout their length.
Boom has two slab reef points; reef winch is a Lewmar 16 C.The boom is provided with a hydraulic outhaul and a Selden Rodkick w/gas spring (vang). The HR46 âRyan's Daughterâ? has a Yanmar Mdl. 4LH-TE auxiliary diesel engine. This particular engine was selected after careful testing by HR over other brands since it delivered a desirable power curve, which exceeded the demands of the yachts' hydraulic and mechanical systems. This proven long life diesel has operated flawlessly while receiving professional maintenance including regular oil changes as recorded in the yachts' service records. Her 8kw 220v Westerbeke generator has operated flawlessly since new. It too has been serviced (8.8.08) to the same standard as her auxiliary engine. Extensive spares inventory convey for her engine, generator, and all other ship's systems such as the watermaker, etc.
MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT
The engine room is an engineerâs delight. Whenever possible, all systems are located in the engine room where they are isolated and insulated against sound yet allowed to âbreatheâ? fresh outside air to maintain lower operating temps. Attention to detail is paramount. Even the pressurized freshwater system is carbon filtered, fed through an expansion tank and distributed equally by utilizing a manifold to equalize pressure and volume thus preventing scalding at any fixture and is located in the engine room so as not to hear pumps come on in the middle of the night.
