Umami is an exceptionally well-equipped 2025 Hallberg-Rassy 340, offered for sale by her original owner. She was ordered new from Hallberg-Rassy and built to his demanding specifications with virtually every available factory option. Not content with an already extensive factory specification, her owner went further after delivery, adding additional lithium battery capacity, a high-output alternator, watermaker and other upgrades to create a remarkably capable and self-sufficient 34-foot cruising yacht.
Her electrical and energy systems are a particular highlight. Umami carries a substantial 920Ah Mastervolt lithium service bank supported by approximately 200 watts of solar generation and an ARCO Zeus 220-amp high-output alternator. A Mastervolt 3,000-watt inverter/charger supplies AC power aboard and the system has sufficient capacity to operate the Dometic air conditioning overnight from the batteries without running a generator. Combined with her Spectra Ventura watermaker, this gives Umami an unusual degree of independence from shore power and marina facilities for a yacht of her size.
The cruising specification continues with Dometic air conditioning serving the saloon and forward cabin, Webasto diesel heating, a retractable 6 hp bow thruster, water-cooled refrigeration and a well-equipped galley. Below deck she has Hallberg-Rassy's two-cabin, one-head arrangement finished in European oak, with double berths forward and aft, a separate shower area and additional sleeping accommodations available in the saloon.
Sail handling was specified for easy operation from the cockpit, with Seldén in-mast furling, electric Seldén Furlex headsail furling, upgraded Lewmar winches and a Code Zero with complete handling equipment. Most of the running rigging was renewed in 2026, and Hallberg-Rassy completed a factory rig inspection the same year.
Her navigation package is equally comprehensive, centered around twin Raymarine Axiom Pro 9 multifunction displays with Quantum 2 Doppler radar, Raymarine autopilot, multiple i70s instruments, AIS700 Class B AIS and Ray73 VHF. Twin steering wheels, twin rudders, Hallberg-Rassy's permanent windscreen, sprayhood, teak cockpit and fold-out bathing platform complete the deck and cockpit arrangement.
Umami is powered by a Volvo Penta D1-30 29 hp diesel with saildrive and folding bronze propeller. The engine has been Volvo dealer serviced with full service history and received a new raw-water pump in 2026.
Importantly, Umami has continued to receive Hallberg-Rassy factory after-sales attention since delivery rather than simply leaving the factory and disappearing into private ownership. Her specification reflects an owner who knew what he wanted when the boat was built and continued improving her afterward.
Umami is now offered for sale because her owner has decided to move up to a larger yacht. For a buyer considering a Hallberg-Rassy 340, she presents an opportunity to acquire a late-model, one-owner boat with an unusually comprehensive factory specification and significant additional equipment already installed.
Accommodation
The Hallberg-Rassy 340 has a two-cabin, one-head layout. The forward cabin has a double berth, and the aft cabin has a double berth. The main saloon has settees to port and starboard with a central dining table. The galley is located aft in the saloon to starboard. The navigatoins station is also aft in the salon to port. There is an enclosed head and separate shower area at the froward end of the salon to port.

Owners Comments and Boat History
There is a kind of sailor who only ever really wants one boat, and I am one of them. Buying a Hallberg-Rassy new from the yard was an ambition I carried for years before I could act on it, and ordering Umami in June 2024 remains one of the achievements of my life.
I specified her myself. I went down the options list line by line and took nearly all of it - the large lithium package, in-mast furling with electric Furlex, Code Zero and bowsprit, the retractable bow thruster, Dometic air conditioning, Webasto heat, twin Axiom Pro 9 displays with Quantum 2 radar. I was not building a boat to keep in a slip and admire. I was building the boat I was going to live on, and every choice I made was made with that in mind.
I flew to Sweden with my father for the handover. Standing in the yard beside him the day they gave her to us is a day I will carry for the rest of my life. We sailed her down to Eemshaven with Halcyon Yachts aboard, she crossed with Sevenstar, and I collected her in Fort Lauderdale and turned south - through the Bahamas and on to the Virgin Islands.
She has been home ever since. My girlfriend and I live aboard full time. Umami is our house and our adventure, my office, and the place I go when I need to be quiet. You come to know a boat completely when you live on her - every sound she makes, everything she asks for.
Living aboard in the tropics asks more of a boat's systems than any options list can anticipate, so I kept going after delivery. I increased the lithium bank to 920Ah, fitted a 220-amp ARCO Zeus alternator, and added a Spectra Ventura watermaker - all of it done professionally by B&G in Tortola and later JSM Marine Services. In 2026 I added solar. She runs her air conditioning overnight on the batteries and makes her own water, which means we anchor where we like, for as long as we like, and answer to nobody's dock.
I have looked after her the way you look after something you love. Roughly 1,700 engine hours as of August 2026, every one of them Volvo dealer serviced, with complete records from the day she left the factory. Most of the running rigging renewed in 2026. A Hallberg-Rassy factory rig inspection the same year, along with other warranty work carried out by the yard. A new raw-water pump, a custom boom tent, a liferaft new in 2025. She is fully loaded, thoughtfully upgraded, and there is nothing on my list left undone.
We are selling for one reason: we are moving up to a larger yacht. That is the whole of it. Letting her go is not easy and I will not pretend otherwise - she has given us two years I would not trade for anything. What I want for her now is an owner who will do what we did with her: take her somewhere, live on her, use her properly. She is ready for it. She is lying at Nanny Cay, Tortola
