$3,000 Price Reduction!!! The sellers are ready to deal!!!!!
You will not be disappointed in this sturdy 26' RK vessel. She survived "Hurricane Sandy" that blew thru on Halloween in 2012 that damaged so many vessels up in the Northeast. She was on her double axle trailer when the storm hit and a number of other boats caused damage to the "lifting" keel along with some minor cosmetic damage. The owners trailered "Lil' Penguin" to the factory in Stewart Florida in 2013 where they replaced the damaged keel with a new and improved version and repaired all other blemishes. The upgraded version allows the skipper to control the keel lift from the cockpit.
This vessel is essentially a 2010 version of this fine sailboat. A new head foil was installed in 2015 and the 2 stroke Yanmar diesel engine with less than 500 hours pushes "Lil' Penguin" at hull speed. A double axle Magic Tilt trailer with surge breaks is included in the sale.

The Biggest Pros and Cons
The 2004 Hake / Seaward 26RK is a versatile and well-regarded pocket cruiser known for its unique retractable keel design. Here are some of the key pros and cons:
Pros
Retractable Keel: The 26RK features a swing or retractable keel that allows for shallow water navigation and easy trailering. This makes it ideal for exploring coastal areas, bays, and even some rivers where deeper keel boats cannot go.
Trailerable Design: Its relatively light displacement and retractable keel enable easy trailering and launching, providing flexibility to sail in different locations without the need for permanent marina slip.
Solid Construction: Built with quality materials and craftsmanship, the 2004 model offers durability and good resale value.
Comfortable Interior: Despite its compact size, the 26RK has a well-thought-out cabin layout with sleeping accommodations for several, a functional galley, and adequate headroom.
Good Sailing Performance: The boat handles well under sail, offering a balanced and stable experience suitable for both beginners and more experienced sailors.
Cons
Limited Space: While efficient, the interior space is still limited due to the boat’s size, which may feel cramped for extended cruising or for larger groups.
Maintenance of Keel Mechanism: The retractable keel system requires regular inspection and maintenance to ensure smooth operation and to avoid potential issues like corrosion or mechanical wear.
Modest Storage: Storage capacity is somewhat limited, so careful packing and organization are necessary for longer trips.
Engine Options: Some owners find the standard outboard engine options less powerful than desired, especially in adverse conditions or strong currents.
