1982 28' Grover-built. This is the largest Grover built and the rarest. 28' with a re-built Yanmar diesel engine, Vetus bow thruster, custom teak swim platform, custom teak bench, stainless windlass and anchor. Cruises at 18-20 knots, 25 knots WOT. Dual controls and tiller, canvas enclosure and full-length bimini.
In 1985 Al Grover did a Trans Atlantic crossing in a 28 Grover. He endured a gale, a hurricane and even falling off the boat before reaching Lisbon and going down in the Guinness Book of World Records. The trip ended at his destination of Newfoundland, Canada.
