There is no other Grand Banks equipped the way DREAM CATCHER is. Ideally set up for short handed operation as she has both bow and stern thrusters as well as electronic controls with a remote. Do your maneuvering from the side decks or from wherever you choose. Other recent upgrades include new radar/plotters. In the fall of '09 her bottom has been painted, new zincs installed, and brightwork done so that she is ready for launch in the spring of 2010!!

The Biggest Pros and Cons

The 1989 Grand Banks Heritage Classic offers a timeless blend of classic design and solid craftsmanship. Here are some pros and cons to consider:

Pros

Classic Styling: The Heritage Classic features the iconic semi-displacement hull and elegant teak woodwork that Grand Banks is known for, giving it a timeless and luxurious appearance.

Solid Construction: Built with high-quality materials and traditional craftsmanship, the vessel is known for durability and seaworthiness.

Comfortable Layout: The boat offers spacious accommodations with a well-designed interior, including a comfortable salon, galley, and sleeping quarters.

Stable Ride: Thanks to its semi-displacement hull, the boat provides a smooth and stable ride even in moderate seas.

Good Range: Equipped with efficient engines, it offers respectable cruising range for extended trips.

Cons

Maintenance Requirements: The extensive use of teak and traditional materials means ongoing maintenance and upkeep can be time-consuming and costly.

Older Electronics: Being a 1989 model, the onboard electronics and navigation systems may be outdated and could require upgrades.

Fuel Efficiency: While stable, the semi-displacement hull may not be as fuel-efficient as modern planing hull designs.

Speed Limitations: The boat’s design favors comfort and range over high speed, so it may have a relatively modest top speed compared to contemporary cruisers.
