Fantastic layout in a fantastic sea boat!  LINDSAY LU has benefitted from excellent original specs and significant updates and upgrades.  Numerous recent improvements, including new Awlgrip, decks refinished, new upholstery, updated electronics, updated mechanical systems including Vacuflush system, batteries, and much more.  Well maintained AND elegant!!

Custom Hunt designed spray strakes were installed to make for a much drier ride than the original.  The oil-bath Evolution drive system makes for smooth speed... and an incredible all-around sea boat.

Gorgeous boat... she needs nothing to head out .... LINDSAY LU is in for the 2017 season and ready to go....It's very easy to fly into either Providence or Boston, LL is equidistant from either airport.

The Biggest Pros and Cons

The 2003 Grand Banks Eastbay 54SX is a well-regarded luxury motor yacht, known for its classic design and solid construction. Here are some of the pros and cons of this model:

Pros

Classic Timeless Design: The Eastbay 54SX features the iconic Grand Banks style with a semi-displacement hull, offering a smooth and comfortable ride.

Spacious Interior: The layout provides ample living space with multiple staterooms, a full galley, and a comfortable salon, making it ideal for extended cruising.

Quality Build: Known for its sturdy fiberglass construction and high-quality craftsmanship, ensuring durability and reliability.

Good Range and Fuel Efficiency: The semi-displacement hull allows for efficient cruising speeds and respectable fuel economy for a vessel of its size.

Well-Equipped Helm: The pilothouse offers excellent visibility and ergonomics, with comprehensive instrumentation and controls.

Versatile Layout: The flybridge and aft deck provide versatile outdoor living and entertaining spaces.

Cons

Older Technology: Being a 2003 model, some onboard systems and electronics may be outdated compared to newer yachts, potentially requiring upgrades.

Maintenance Costs: As with any older luxury yacht, maintenance and upkeep costs can be significant to keep the vessel in top condition.

Limited High-Speed Performance: The semi-displacement hull prioritizes comfort and efficiency over speed, so it may lack the higher top-end speeds of planing hull designs.

Weight and Draft: The solid build and heavier displacement result in a deeper draft, which may limit access to shallow waters.

Interior Styling: While classic, the interior design may feel dated to some buyers accustomed to more contemporary styling.

Made For

The 2003 Grand Banks Eastbay 54SX is ideal for discerning boaters who seek a blend of classic style, spacious comfort, and reliable performance. It is perfect for those who enjoy extended cruising with family and friends, as well as for individuals who appreciate quality craftsmanship, elegant design, and a vessel built for both coastal and offshore adventures.
