"Coconut" is a wonderfully cared-for Grand-Banks 42 Classic. The current owners have had her for three years and they have been continually investing in her to keep her in tip-top shape. Improvements include full re-power, new electronics, new AGM batteries, StarLink, new fridge/freezer and more.
With a luxurious teak main salon, Bimini covered bridge deck, and two comfortable staterooms, "Coconut" has plenty of comfortable lounging areas, whether under way or relaxing at anchor with your favorite beverage at sunset. The flybridge lounge area is an especially relaxing space to enjoy any harbor setting.
A true voyager, this boat has successfully passaged up and down the east coast, the ICW and the Bahamas. For the past couple of years, she has spent the summers on the Coast of Maine where she has been enjoying a successful (and lucrative) charter business. This also represents a solid business potential for the next owner. With the new Starlink system, reliable high speed connectivity is assured anywhere in the world; "Coconut" could be your home office anywhere you choose to go!
This iconic semi-displacement trawler is ready to go, whether Exploring the Bahamas or Caribbean, doing the Great Loop, gunk-holing or live-aboard, you won't find a better option than the Grand Banks 42 Classic.
The interior of "Coconut" is accessed through two doors either side of the pilot house, at the helm to starboard and sft of the galley to port.
Main Salon
The main salon is aft of the helm and galley and is outfitted with an L-shaped sette and fixed table with leaves to starboard and a straight settee to port. The brand new Vitrifrigo fridge/freezer is aft of the straight settee on the port side.
Helm
Forward of the main salon on the starboard side is the helm with all brand new navigation electronics, a beautiful teak wheel and immediate door access to the side-deck.
Galley
To Port, opposite the helm is the well organized and nicely laid-out galley with stainless sink, microwave oven, three burner Force 10 propane stove (2021), plenty of storage below the counter and an overhead cabinet and even a pull-out counter section to maximize working space.
Forward Stateroom
Forward of the helm and galley and down three steps is the forward cabin featuring a comfortable Vee-berth which makes a generously sized double berth and an en-suite "wet" head with shower. There is a hanging locker and plenty of drawer storage and there is door-access to the engine room behind the steps.
Aft Stateroom:
Aft of the main salon the master stateroom is down four steps. This cabin has a walk-around double berth, slightly offset to starboard which allows for a nice desk / vanity on the port side. There is a cedar closet, and plenty of drawer storage on three sides of the cabin. The aft stateroom features a "split" head with the toilet and sink in a compartment to port and a generous stall shower on the starboard side. There is a private companionway which provides immediate access to and from the aft deck.
FlyBridge:
The flybridge is accesed from the port side-deck via steps on the side of the cabin house. The forward area is for the upper helm to starboard with excellent visibility all around the boat and a "co-pilot's" seat to port which is a wonderful place to relax while underway. Aft of the helm area are two built-in aft-facing settees and deck chairs with a teak table.
Engine Room:
The engine room can be accessed either through a doorway behind the stairs in the aft end of the forward cabin or through lifting panels in the main salon floor. The engine room is nicely laid out with clear access to the main engine, generator, batteries, all through-hulls, and electrical wiring.
