Vessel Walkthrough
"T-SEA" is hull no 16 of the Grand Alaskan 60-64' Pilothouse Series. She has two more feet in her aft deck/cockpit and salon than the 60' series, which was introduced in 1998, and also two more feet in her engine room and lazarette. In addition her owner chose to extend the upper deck as well to create a larger flybridge and boat deck area, which also provides full weather protection for the aft deck/cockpit.
Aft Deck
The aft deck/ cockpit area has easy access from either port or starboard gate doors or from a gate door from the integrated swim platform. The teak covered swim platform area has a centerline hatch which raises on two hydraulic arms to all convenient access to a hide away swim platform. Three stainless U shaped stainless steel rails in the swim platform area provide additional safety. The access for the 90' Glendinning cablemaster shore service, transom shower, television and telephone are located on the transom. For ease of maintenance, the aft deck/ cockpit area has a non-skid surface, and an optional built in seating and storage area with decorator weather resistant cushioned seating and protective covers. A fiberglass cabinet with granite top has a sink, and storage cabinets below, and fresh water wash down. A recent update includes a custom oval table with high gloss varnish and gold leaf inlay and a very substantial stainless steel base. The larger aft deck of the 64' model allows for comfortable dining and entertaining on the aft deck for larger groups than the 60' model. Additional lighting overhead was specified for this area, and is on dimmers.
Salon
Through large opening double doors from the aft deck there is a spacious salon. The owners worked with a designer, and the result created a warm attractive comfortable salon, complimented with a rich teak cabinetry and paneling. The custom L shaped sofa to port has storage below, and granite topped end table, and a high low teak table provides an alternate opportunity for dining. The custom teak cabinet bar with granite counter, houses a Sidebar dispenser for liquor, sink, oversized Scotsman icemaker, liquor storage, and is conveniently located just inside the salon to starboard to allow easy servicing to the aft deck as well. In addition a teak and Lucite cabinet with built in lighting, is located above this bar and cabinet area. Ahead of this cabinet are two barrel chairs and matching stool, and then forward is a custom designed entertainment cabinet which houses a 27" Color TV with DVD and VCR and the Bose sound system has zones in the salon, pilothouse and master. There is satellite tracking for the television. An on deck head with granite countered cabinet is located furthest forward on the starboard side of the salon. Special attention was paid to add soundproofing below the carpeted area in the salon for noise reduction, and window treatments are substantially upgraded. All overhead lighting is on dimmers and special provisions were made to recess additional controls for lighting between the salon and galley. At additional expense all of the interior teak trim in the windows had rounded corners for a more finished look.
Galley Features
The salon adjoins the galley and an extended granite galley counter allows additional seating here. A larger opening window was specified in the construction plans, and cabinets above the galley counter offer useful storage. The pantry to starboard is full height and in combination with the other drawers and cabinets offers abundant storage. The large stainless steel sink has a Grohe faucet along with an Insta-hot unit. The GE stainless side-by-side refrigerator/freezer offers ice and water in the door and the GE stainless Advantium Oven/Microwave sits above a four-burner cook top stove. Special attention was made to allow the removal of the cabinets and storage drawers below the cook top so that a full size oven could be added if ever required. There is also a Braun trash compacter and Frigidaire dishwasher. The teak and holly soles appear as new as a removable carpet runner is in place. Lighting above the galley counter is on separate dimmer control as is the rest of the galley lighting.
Master Stateroom
The Master is just a few steps down from the galley and benefits from substantial natural light from the main deck level when the door is left open or when closed provides privacy. This yacht had the steps enlarged to allow even better access to the master. Large opening ports show off the beauty of the teak cabinets and paneling, or designer window treatments allow for elimination of light for sleeping. The port side has a built in color tv/vcr above a half hanging locker and moving forward cabinet drawers were built slightly larger to accommodate more clothing. The tapered King berth, with custom mattress, designer coverings, pillows and cushions has a teak framed mirror over a custom headboard, and swing arm reading lights were installed on either side. Granite countered end tables with drawer storage are on either side of the berth and drawer storage is also provided below the berth. There is additional cabinet storage to port and to starboard a double deep, cedar lined hanging locker allows exceptional storage. The ensuite head utilizes a teak pocket door entry with granite topped cabinet, large stall shower with seat and opening port. The head has a teak and holy floor and all heads through the yacht are part of a vacuflush system and are upgraded to the black color. Lighting is on dimmers with additional lighting specified during the original construction. A teak door open which appears to be another hanging locker, leads to a watertight aluminum door with viewing port for either easy access to the engine room or just the ability to monitor the engine room area through the viewing port. Behind the opening door to the master in an area, which was not normally utilized, and the owner had the yard build a seven-foot high bookshelf and storage below. Both telephone and intercom systems and Air conditioning controls are located within easy reach of the berth. The satellite receivers for the television system service the master with separate receiver and the Bose sound system extends to the master as well.
Port Guest Stateroom
From the staircase from the Pilothouse there is access to the port guest stateroom. To provide a better flow the hallways paneling to this area was curved and the optional double door entrance provides a more open feeling. This upper/lower berth stateroom has a granite-topped vanity, with storage and teak framed mirror, full height hanging locker and large opening stainless steel ports. The décor including berth, pillow and window coverings follow the theme of the rest of the interior, and there is access to a guest head to starboard. Intercom, lighting and air conditioning controls are within easy reach. The upper berth is designed similar to a Pullman berth, and can hinge down to make this stateroom a sitting room for the VIP.
VIP Stateroom
The VIP guest stateroom is ahead of the port guest stateroom and has a walk around queen berth with custom mattress, bed coverings, pillows and window treatments. The four forward opening ports also have the optional blackout coverings for nighttime sleeping privacy and safety. The large hanging locker is cedar lined, and there are other storage areas below the berth and very large opening drawers below the berth. There is a private door to the guest head and built in TV/VCR. An opening screened hatch above can provide natural light and ventilation. There are reading lights and overhead dimmer controlled halogen lighting and a separate stereo system.
Pilothouse
The Pilothouse is up for steps from the galley and the owner specified larger teak handrails from the yard, which are attractive and strong. The pilothouse has exceptional visibility enhanced even in bad weather with interval wiper controls and has overhead opening screened hatches for ventilation, if running without the using the air conditioning. A high low hinged table lends itself can be an additional berth or can lend itself to dining and the built in L shaped seating can accommodate six for dinner, as the electric Stidd chair can be rotated to provide an additional seat. There is abundant storage underneath the seating and below the footrests; a hanging locker was added to port. The port and starboard pilothouse doors are heavily built and have additional dogs latches for security. To starboard a custom cabinet was designed at the foot of the stairs, which lead up to the fly bridge to provide additional storage and also to store the remote control unit for the engines and bow thruster control, which has over 60 feet of cord. The electronics console has abundant storage below allows room for the computer tower to port and wine cooler to starboard. The 12/24/110/220 breaker panels are located here, and large opening chart drawers are just to port of the teak and stainless steering wheel. The console and instrument panel were enlarged from the standard to allow for the electronics, which were initially specified and also provide room for updates in the future. The cellular phone and intercom system were recessed, and overhead lighting is on dimmer controls, and other lighting includes night running red lights and reading lights. Carpeting sits above the teak and holy flooring to protect it and keep it like new.

A large sliding hatch moves easily and is designed to be out of the way when open and can be locked in place. An additional area of seating with storage to starboard be added to the normal L shaped seating with storage below on the port side. A Stidd helm chair is located centerline in front of the large stainless steering wheel. Two fiberglass tables sit ahead of the L shaped seating and behind that seating a custom fiberglass cabinet houses a fridge/icemaker, storage, and a 35 gallon tank which had been intended for gas storage for the tenders engine on extended cruises, but to date has not been filled with any fluids. Aft of the starboard side seating is an additional fiberglass cabinet with a sink, built in gas grill and freshwater wash down. A recently replaced Bimini covers the entire area of seating, and there are covers for all seating and the fiberglass cabinets to starboard. The flybridge deck has a large area not undercover for lounging, and on the aft end of this deck there is a 14' Novurania with 50hp four-stroke Yamaha outboard. A low profile 1000 lb davit is located here as well. Arch lights are on dimmers and there is a separate stereo. Triple Khalenburg horns were specified when the yacht was built. An additional Hause cleat was specified on both port and starboard sides ahead of the aft deck opening gate doors to let a forward spring line not interfere with these entrances. The bulwarks and Portuguese bridge provide an unhampered and protected walkway around the entire yacht which is very safe for children, pets, and also for anyone onboard. Varnished handrails and toe rails are in excellent condition, and the forward stainless rails on the bow were designed to have the stanchion bases off the teak toe rails to facilitate ease of maintenance of the bright work. Special attention and extra cost allowed the yard to extend the side teak fender railing on "T- SEA" well past handrails so that any contact with a dock or piling would not impact the varnished handrail or hull. Broker's Remarks
Her original owners continual updates and maintenance, which includes waxing every three months, and constant attention to all of the systems onboard, have kept "T-SEA", in superb condition. She has spent much of her life in the Great Lakes, and when traveling to her winter home in Florida and back, she generally ran at hull speeds, which produce economy equivalent to one gallon per nautical mile, although when weather or other circumstances require additional speed, that can easily be done. As such her engines still have approximately eight five percent of their expected life before a refit could be required. Her owner's long background and ownership of many yachts, and direct input during construction contributed to producing a beautiful omfortable cruising yacht.
