This bespoke mahogany triple cockpit was built for a very particular client that knew what he wanted. The blending of contemporary mechanical components with classic design elements all constructed on cold molded solid mahogany frames, battens, and planks produced a phenomenal boat. Built on the proven Grand-Craft 27 Classic hull, the designers eliminated the stepped deck and hard shoulder transom in favor of a more barrel shaped deck design that resulted in a more rounded out look. Powered by a modern Mercury 8.2L big block straight drive with electronic shift and throttle and hydraulic steering she is a delight to handle and the automatic electric trim tabs keep the boat riding at the correct attitude on plane. The Vetus bow thruster makes docking the boat a simple task. The foredeck hatch opens to a large storage area that also houses a cockpit heater fan that utilizes the engine's cooling system to provide the heat for those chilly nights. The cockpit flooring is built of solid mahogany that is encapsulated in solid teak. Under the second row cockpit seats are two coolers and a toilet. The engine room offers framed storage areas and finished brightwork side planks. This boat was kept on its custom built Integrity trailer or on its shore station on Lake Huron. It also has lift eyes on the deck so it can be hung in a boat house. The finish is not old school varnish but rather it has just been refinished with the latest Awlgrip two part polyurethane for many years of maintenance free use.
