Low hours on twin 150 4-stroke Mercury. Reburbished and repowered.
1987 Grady-White 23' Gulfstream with 2017 Mercury engines with only 142 hours of running time.
There is a reason you see older model Grady-White boats still running... they were built to last. Built solid and made to take the open water or the inside chop with ease. In 2019-2020 the boat underwent a refit of mechanical, electrical, and electronics. The transom was also replaced. The prior owner has receipts for the repairs. Even a new Danford anchor with 250' of rope.
The Gulfstream model is a walkaround cuddy cabin with a roomy cabin. Porta-potty for convenience and long trips offshore. Nice elevated helm station with a hardtop with pole holders. The boat has a cover for protection from the sun.
The Raymarine electronics were a recent quality upgrade with a networked depth sounder-fishfinder-plotter, and the capability of adding radar to the same network and screen. Replacement switches and fuses look good and the seller says they are all functioning.
The VHF radio has the locator for Coast Guard emergency calls. The onboard battery charger is a smart charger to keep batteries in good condition. First-class all the way.
The teak is in great shape with quality additions not found on factory boats.

Grady-White Gulfstream 23: BoatTEST Review
Overview
The Gulfstream 232 from Grady White is a popular 23-foot-plus walk-around boat that offers the spaciousness and features of a larger vessel while maintaining nimble handling comparable to a ski boat. Designed with family fishing and recreational use in mind, this model incorporates hull design elements and fishing amenities from Grady White's larger lineup, making it a versatile choice for both fishing and leisure activities.
Exterior Design and Deck Features
The boat measures 23 feet 5 inches in length overall with a beam of 9 feet 3 inches, and it weighs approximately 4,538 pounds in the single-engine configuration. The Gulfstream 232 features a large cockpit area of 56 square feet, ideal for fishing and socializing. At the bow, the optional pulpit, anchor chain scuff plate, and windlass simplify anchoring operations. Safety is enhanced by low rails and a deep walk-around design, allowing easy and secure movement forward. The helm station is equipped with an optional hardtop that includes rocket launcher-style rod holders, lighting, mesh storage, an electronics box, and optional outriggers. Behind the helm seat is a 265-quart fish box with an overboard drain and two lure boxes beneath, while the navigator's seat conceals a 36-gallon live well with a clip system for aerator tube storage. The aft cockpit offers ample beam width for handling crab pots, lines, and fishing rods, complemented by optional bolsters, standard rod racks with built-in drink holders, tow rails, washdown connections, flush-mounted rod holders, and recessed fixed cleats. A patented rear seat folds away or sets up quickly, and the stern includes drink holders, a swim shower wand, battery access box, and a center fish box topped with a replaceable cutting board. A telescoping swim ladder on a small platform at the port stern corner facilitates water access.
Interior Living Spaces
Below deck, the Gulfstream 232 provides comfortable accommodations suitable for family outings. The cabin includes over-and-under bunks that can accommodate two people for naps or overnight stays, with head racks for secure storage of fishing gear. On the port side, a compact galley features a sink, ice box, and portable stove, while a portable head compartment adds convenience. The helm area is designed for ergonomic comfort, featuring Grady White Pompano seats with flip armrests and full adjustability. The helm layout offers a large, flat, angled surface for electronics installation, with Yamaha Command Link gauges to the left, a Ritchey compass in the center, and grouped switches to the right. Trim tabs and indicators are positioned near the throttle, and multiple 12-volt sockets are available on both sides to accommodate portable gear. Two drawers beneath the navigator's seat provide handy storage accessible from both the helm and cockpit.
Power and Performance
The Gulfstream 232 is rated for up to 400 horsepower and can be configured with either a single or twin engine setup. The test boat was powered by a Yamaha 350-horsepower V8 four-stroke engine. Performance testing revealed a smooth ride with quiet operation, registering a maximum noise level of 93 decibels. The boat planes in 4.4 seconds and reaches 30 miles per hour in 7.5 seconds. Its top speed was recorded at 51.1 miles per hour. The most efficient cruising speed observed was 28.1 miles per hour at 3,500 RPM, providing a range of approximately 356 miles on a full fuel capacity of 150 gallons.
Conclusion
The Gulfstream 232 combines the spaciousness and amenities of a larger fishing boat with agile handling and efficient performance. Its thoughtful design includes numerous fishing features, comfortable accommodations, and practical storage solutions, making it well suited for families seeking a versatile and reliable vessel. The test results demonstrate strong performance metrics, including quick planing, a high top speed, and efficient cruising range, underscoring the boat's capability as both a fishing platform and family cruiser.
