66' Custom Gorbon 66 '97 "Bajavento"
This unique vessel was built as "UZMA", a prestigious ocean racer, custom designed for an experienced Turkish yachtsman by naval architect Fatih Gorbon.
A West System Cold-molded Hull, built with the finest specs in 1995 and launched 1997 in Istanbul.
Converted to a luxury cruiser in year 2000 for Mediterranean sailing with very little use.
With less than 2000hrs of main engine work, a Mexican sailor bought it in 2008 to cruise the Mediterranean, cross the Atlantic and sail it to Cabo in Mexico with a new name BAJAVENTO.
BAJAVENTO is a truly luxurious performance vessel that can be sailed shorthanded easily. Located on the West Coast of North America, this yacht is prepared to go anywhere in the world. Wired for charging and inverting both 220 volts and 125 volts with outlets for each throughout the vessel. Originally launched in 1998 as a Thoroughbred Racing Yacht, this 66' custom "one off" raced 3 races a year for two years.
In 2000, a high-quality custom luxury interior was installed, as well as cruising systems and equipment. Designed and built by Fatih Gorbon in Turkey in one of the oldest quality shipbuilding areas of the world.
She is professionally maintained, and in excellent condition. BAJAVENTO is a Swan lookalike and is in cruise mode at this time. A competitive racer/cruiser that most crews have not experienced such luxury on such a high performance yacht. She has sailed from Turkey across the Atlantic in the ARC, through the Panama Canal, and into the Pacific. She is regularly double handed by the owners. The expansive decks, lounging pads forward of the mast, and between the aft and center cockpits, covered center cockpit with teak table, and aft driving station make her an incredible platform for cruising in style and comfort. She has had a recent refit that includes Bow Thruster, Mast and Boom painted, Dodger and Bimini, Topsides Hull Paint, Runners, and she has always been professionally maintained. Over $200,000 has been invested in upgrades and maintenance over the last two years. She is located just south of San Diego in Ensenada, so call ahead to schedule a showing.
Step into Luxury when you walk down the wide companionway entrance to find the grand salon with dinette, wall mounted freezer and ice machine, entertainment center, and cabinets to port, a settee to starboard with glass doors and mirrors above that houses the spirits. Navigation center is just aft of the settee and contains the electrical panel, communications, instruments, and has a large opening desk with drawer storage. Salon seat cushions are beige leather. Walking forward is the guest stateroom with abundant storage in cabinets and drawers, centerline queen bed, settee, and has its own private head and shower. Large hatch overhead provides light and has a shade cover for privacy. Moving aft to port adjacent to companionway is a smaller private stateroom with double bed, storage, and ensuite head and shower. On the opposite side of the companionway is the gourmet galley with expansive countertops, pantry, stainless steel sink, microwave, single door refrigerator, two burner electric cooktop, and many drawers, spice rack, cabinets, and under floor storage. Engine room access is aft in the galley. Next aft through the galley is the palatial master stateroom. Centerline large master berth with seating on either side. Single berth on portside, and desk mounted on forward bulkhead with mirror above, Large master head with VacuFlush system, vanity and sink, and shower. Features of vessel: Exquisite woodwork and joinery throughout, Corian counters, air conditioning with zone controls in each stateroom, recessed lighting in ceiling, leather upholstery and fitted carpeting throughout.
