She was produced by NOVA SHIPYARDS (Kaoshiung, Taiwan) in 1987 and is powered by (2) VOLVO 200 HP TAMD 41 Series diesels that provide a comfortable & economical 8-10 knots cruise at light-to-moderate power settings and will reach the "mid-to-upper teens" if so desired. This George Stadel-design provides all the best features of a well-executed & spacious double cabin Flybridge Motoryacht w/ Dual Helm Stations. The ambient lighting, ventilation, storage & general systems access all are superior. The GOLDEN STAR 38 is solidly-constructed with an excellent satin varnish full teak interior that includes a Forward Stateroom, Galley (down), a Lower Helm Station (w/ door to the starboard side deck). the Main Salon, the Aft Stateroom & (2) Heads. The Flybridge is easily-accessible via a walk-up from the Sun Deck area.
The UPON A STAR is well-equipped with an 8- kW fresh water-cooled ONAN diesel generator in a soundproof box in the amidships engine compartment. Her climate control is provided by a (3) zone Reverse-Cycle Heat & Air-Conditioning System, The Galley Down layout is complete w/ a (3) burner electric stove w/ oven & a newer full-sized NORCOLD refrigerator / freezer (dual voltage 115 VAC / 12 VDC). The full Parquet soles (vis carpeting) throughout provide an attractive & easy-to-maintain interior for extended stays.
