The Formula 350 CBR is a one-of-a-kind Crossover Bowrider, conceived with evolutionary styling on a crowd-pleasing platform by Formula's exclusive designer John Adams. Springboarding from Formula's widely popular 350 Sun Sport, the CBR extends the fun into the bow area without sacrificing the ever-important flush cockpit or standup headroom in a day-into-night cabin that truly has it all.
The helm features doublewide twin command seating at the completely redesigned dash with new panels and a layout that maximizes space, comfort and style. Livorsi gauges assure confident command at the liquid black dash where metallic accents announce the sporty feel of the boat. A dash-mounted, full-feature stereo remote control delivers music through eight marine-grade speakers in the cockpit and two in the cabin. The steering wheel features styling accented by an upholstered dash eyebrow introducing a sophisticated look and feel to the entire dash area, while a lockable glove box with individual compartments safeguards your valuables as you enjoy the day.
The cockpit takes a fresh, bold approach with sumptuously contoured seating, precision contrast stitching and color accents that speak volumes in styling expertise. Recessed lumbar areas convey a completely new design theme, and the 24 drinkholders throughout the bow and cockpit offer plenty of places to set your drink as you enjoy the ride. Storage is at every turn for all your boating gear, under seats, in lockers and in the floor. The molded cockpit wetbar features an integrated sink, Corian® countertop, 17.5-quart cooler, trash container and an optional fridge.
A roomy portside lounge along with the U-shaped lounge aft expand the comfortable, spacious seating, while the dual-height tables and filler cushions adapt to fit various on-water activities you and your guests may choose. The bow of the boat is a seamless transition from the cockpit with a flush floor all the way to the bow. Seating is plentiful, yet convertible to a spacious sun lounge with a double-wide lounge seat to starboard, two dual height tables and wrap-around seating with filler cushions. A comfortable armrest on the starboard folds up when not in use. An Igloo® cooler in the bow keeps drinks and snacks chilled and ready to refresh the crew at all times.
The rear-facing convertible aft sun lounge also adds to the sunning space and overlooks the extended swim platform. An all-new extended water-sport swim platform with four drink holders optional. A starboard side trunk, along with storage under the aft lounge, store boating necessities plus extras for a full day on the water. Blue/white LED lighting is standard on the swim platform and in the cockpit.
Entering the cabin through the centerline door at the helm, three solid wood steps lead down to reveal woodgrain-finish flooring and a full 5'10" of headroom. The doublewide lounge, cedar-lined hanging locker and AM/FM/CD stereo changer are to starboard. The cabin features a mini galley at centerline, similar to a private aircraft, with a microwave, neatly concealed sink and a pull-out stainless steel refrigerator. A full bank of galley drawers, storage cupboard with wastebasket and paper towel holder and an optional HDTV/DVD combo are to port. The spacious head features a molded vanity with Corian® countertop, sink, shower and Vacuflush head unit, plus plenty of storage. Through the clever utilization of space only Formula's unique Crossover Bowrider layout provides, a full-size double berth with Sensus® memory foam mattress is located aft, so there is no need to convert a lounge for sleeping. The cabin is perfect for overnight trips or taking a break from the sun, with room to stretch out and relax.

Overview
The Formula 350 CBR R, known as the Crossover Bow Rider, is a versatile boat that combines the functionality of a bow rider with the capability of an overnighter. This model has been updated with a significant change in its propulsion system, now powered by triple 350 horsepower Mercury V10 outboard engines. The boat offers a blend of performance, comfort, and thoughtful design features suitable for day cruising and extended stays.
Exterior Design and Helm Features
The boat's triple Mercury V10 outboards are mounted on a bracket rather than directly on the transom, providing a clean installation. Notably, oil check and fill points are conveniently located on top of each engine for easy access. The propulsion system includes joystick piloting and digital throttle and shift controls, enhancing maneuverability. The helm is equipped with a 12-inch Raymarine vessel view display and remote control, alongside electrical switches and a tilt-mounted steering wheel. Audio amenities include a 200-watt subwoofer integrated with an 800-watt stereo system. Practical features such as numerous beverage holders, an inductive smartphone charger, and a large curved windshield with a stainless steel frame contribute to the helm's functionality. The helm seat is a 41-inch-wide double seat with wraparound backrest and flip-up bolsters, fixed in position, complemented by a large, compartmentalized storage area nearby.
Interior Living Spaces
Below deck, the cabin offers six feet, two inches of headroom and includes a 37-inch bench seat to starboard with storage and a cabinet housing a trash receptacle and paper towel holder. Hardwood-finished drawers and quality joinery enhance the interior craftsmanship. A window provides ventilation and natural light. The galley features a microwave, sink recessed into a Corian countertop, grab handle, storage, and a refrigerator. The wet head includes an electric flush toilet, recessed sink, storage, and an opening port light for harbor views. Additional storage is found above the bench seat, which includes a cedar-lined phone holder and stereo system. The mid cabin berth measures 79 by 57 inches with 27 inches of headroom, and a TV with storage is located on the port side. The cabin is climate-controlled by an 8,000 BTU air conditioning system, ensuring comfort during overnight stays.
Comfort and Cockpit Features
The cockpit area is designed for both relaxation and socializing. A large aft sun pad measuring 47 by 74 inches features seat backs that convert from aft-facing to forward-facing, creating a versatile shade lounge with beverage holders and connectivity options. Storage beneath the sun pad includes dedicated space for a reboarding ladder. The swim platform rises 31 inches above the waterline and is equipped with seven-inch pull-up cleats. The cockpit entrance is offset to port, with a 16-inch-wide passage between the gate and padded bolsters, and includes a hot and cold shower with fresh water flush for the engines. The U-shaped seating area features snap-in carpeting, articulating seat cushions, ample storage beneath, and numerous beverage holders. The cockpit also houses a 5 kW low-emission gas generator with excellent ventilation, fire protection system, and battery storage. A refreshment center with refrigeration and pedestal TV receptacle is located opposite the generator. A 43-inch lounge forward of the cockpit offers comfortable seating facing either the captain or the cockpit, with padded bolsters and connectivity.
Flybridge and Bow Area
An optional hardtop with a manually operated sunroof and electric retractable awning provides shade and weather protection. The walkthrough to the bow is slightly offset to port, with storage compartments on both sides. The bow seating includes a flip-down armrest and removable filler cushion to convert the area into a sun pad. Storage is available beneath the seats, including a waste receptacle and carry-on cooler. The elongated bow rails feature holders for stanchions to support a Mediterranean sunshade. The bow deck includes a gas-assisted hatch over the ground tackle, finished on both sides, with a Lumar windlass managing the all-chain rode through a stainless steel anchor roller. Controls for the windlass are conveniently positioned alongside the hatch, which also provides easy access to the rode locker. Freshwater washdowns are located on both sides of the hatch, and seven-inch cleats and a remote control spotlight are installed fully forward.
Power and Performance
Powered by triple 350 horsepower Mercury V10 outboards turning 22-pitch propellers, the Formula 350 CBR R achieves a top speed of 60.7 miles per hour at 6,422 RPM, based on Mercury Marine's independently verified test data. The boat's best cruise speed is 30.8 miles per hour at 3,500 RPM, with a fuel burn of 28.7 gallons per hour, yielding approximately 1.07 miles per gallon and a range of 243 statute miles. Acceleration tests show the boat reaching 20 miles per hour in 3.99 seconds and surpassing 30 miles per hour in 5.9 seconds. The boat planes quickly with minimal bow rise and responds well to helm inputs, rolling smoothly into turns without discomfort. Maintaining speed through performance turns requires additional throttle input, which the engines handle effortlessly due to their high torque. The active trim system optimizes running attitude, though manual override is possible for maximum speed and fuel consumption.
Conclusion
The Formula 350 CBR R successfully blends sporty performance with comfortable accommodations and thoughtful design. Its triple outboard setup delivers impressive speed and handling, while the interior and cockpit spaces provide versatility for both day outings and overnight stays. Attention to detail in fit and finish, combined with practical features such as joystick piloting, advanced electronics, and ample storage, make this boat a well-rounded choice for enthusiasts seeking both fun and functionality on the water.
