The Biggest Pros and Cons
Pros
Shallow Draft Design: The Excel 1860 F4 is engineered for shallow water navigation, allowing you to access hard-to-reach spots where larger boats can't go. This makes it ideal for fishing and hunting in wetlands, shallows, and river systems.
Robust Construction: Built with durable materials, the Excel 1860 features a rugged aluminum hull that stands up to wear and tear in tough environments, ensuring longevity and reliability.
Versatile Layout: The Center Console layout offers ease of movement and accessibility, making it great for operations ranging from fishing to cruising, providing an intuitive experience for users.
Ample Storage: With an efficient design, the boat comes with plenty of storage options for gear, tackle, and personal items, keeping everything organized and easily accessible during your outings.
Customizable Features: The Deluxe model often allows for various upgrades. Options like additional rod holders, upgraded seating, and electronic equipment can enhance your boating experience based on personal preferences.
Performance: Equipped with a capable motor and built for speed, the 1860 Shallow Water F4 can deliver excellent performance on the water, giving you the power needed for quick runs across the lake or river.
Cons
Limited Space: While the layout is designed for functionality, the space in the boat may feel cramped for larger parties, making it less ideal for group outings with more than four people.
Ride Quality: The shallow draft can sometimes result in a rougher ride in choppy waters, which may not be as comfortable for passengers compared to deeper-hulled boats.
Less Suitable for Open Water: Although it excels in shallow environments, this boat may not be the best choice for open waters, where larger waves and rough conditions can pose a challenge.
Maintenance Needs: As with any boat, regular maintenance is required to keep the aluminum surface free of corrosion, especially in saltwater environments.
Engine Limitations: Depending on the chosen configuration, there may be limitations on engine size, which could affect performance for those used to higher-powered options.
