In 2006 this Ericson won the sail Magazine contest for refit of the year. Dozens of manufacturers donated equipment, and thousands of man hours during this refit. She was moved indoors at the renowned Wavelength facility in Portsmouth, RI where the work was performed. This 1978 Ericson is in very good condition and with the refit it has the best equipment and is equal to that of a boat 30 years newer.
There are a couple of things that need to be done: the hull has been scratched not gauged. The anchor came loose and banged against the side for an extended length of time which resulted in the scratches. There also should be an AC added for use in the southern states. Other than that she has excellent electronics and equipment.
This is a true performer and is very fast and comfortable!
