Located in Newcastle, Maine. A handsome, well proportioned sloop designed by Eldredge-McInnis Inc. of Boston, and built by L.I. Snow, Rockland Maine in 1934. Often perceived as being a Herreshoff design, and indeed there are documented and structural influences from Nathanael Herreshoff classics in these yachts. With a sweet sheerline and a slightly elevated bow she's ideal for coastal New England waters.  Easy to handle and the perfect day sailer or coastal cruiser for two or three crew. Miwarawa has been meticulously upgraded, maintained and owned by present owner since 1973. Substantial rebuild from 1998-2003 at Riverside Boat Yard, Newcastle, Maine. 25 HP Universal diesel (2003). Main and jib sails. Sitka spruce spars. Oak keel, stem, framing, floors and deck beams. Cedar planking fastened with Everdur silicon-bronze screws.

Miwarawa differs with positive outcome in both sailing ability and stability from most if not all 26 Eldredge-McInnis sloops in having a three foot bow sprit (very competitive in her class for Wednesday evening races) and a lead keel (with bronze keel bolts). Also a quarter berth on the port side was added, however original interior joinery (pine with mahogany trim) has been retained. She has fresh paint topsides and has also recently varnished.
