BLACKWING is a 1995 version of this handsome daysailer and is located in Newport, Rhode Island. If you want to win races, BLACKWING is the boat. If you prefer a sleek, well-balanced and easy to handle daysailer, BLACKWING is the boat.
Designed by L. Francis Herreshoff for Willoughby Stuart in 1932 and built by Edey and Duff. Known for its' graceful lines, ease of handling and remarkable sailing performance. The "Stuart Knockabout" continues as a popular and much admired daysailer and racer. BLACKWING has been properly maintained and is a fine example of this great sailboat model. The vessel is sold with a custom matched trailer and a Torqeedo electric side-mounted outboard motor. Sails are in excellent condition.
The Stuart Knockabout is an excellent option both for people wishing to upgrade from a smaller daysailer, and those wanting to experience a simpler alternative to a larger vessel. The Stuart Knockabout offers greater flexibility and excitement, while retaining the classic aesthetic but with modern materials and rigging.
Convenience, easy own and sail are the hallmarks of this venerable design. The Stuart is an easy way to get sailing quickly, handle singlehandedly, and put to bed at the end of a day of sailing.
