EIDER - 1970 Dyer 29 Extended Hardtop
EIDER is a beautifully maintained example of the iconic Dyer 29, a Downeast-style cruiser renowned for her timeless design, practical layout, seakindly handling, and rugged construction. Built by Dyer in Warren, Rhode Island, the Dyer 29 has been in continuous production since 1955 and has earned a well-deserved reputation as a capable and comfortable coastal cruiser.
EIDER is particularly well equipped for extended cruising, with a substantial battery bank, 250 watts of walk-on solar, and a Victron charging system providing excellent off-grid capability. Her accommodations include a comfortable V-berth, galley with pressure water, refrigerator/freezer and propane stove, and an Air Head composting toilet.
Her built-down hull and 350 HP Crusader 454 provide a combination of substantial construction and strong performance. She comfortably cruises at 10-15 knots, with a top speed of approximately 22 knots. Recent mechanical work includes a rebuilt transmission, new exhaust components, starter, fuel pump, shaft, PSS dripless shaft seal, and control cables.
Her owners have invested extensively in her over the past five years, but are reluctantly offering her for sale as they find themselves ready to move on from boating.
EIDER offers the classic Dyer 29 design with substantial recent improvements, capable performance, and a proven history of coastal cruising.
