1983 DESCO 76', Trawler "Sunset V"
A Unique Long Range Trawler - Perfect As A Liveaboard Or Charter Cruise Boat
Built by the Diesel Engine Sales Company (DESCO), a pioneer in shrimp boat production in St. Augustine, Florida, Sunset V was purpose built for recreational long range, blue water cruising. Originally built for Lewis Glucksman of Lehman Brothers, the vessel was commissioned in 1983 (originally 68 feet in length). She underwent a refit in 2009 at Front Street Shipyard, Bellfast, Maine, extending her length to 76 feet. She was purchased by the current owners in 2017, who used her as a liveaboard until 2024. She has been well maintained; is mechanically sound and extremely reliable. A lightning strike has disabled many of the electronics, however, all propulsion systems are in good condition and fully functional. Living accommodations have been updated in many areas, she is a spacious, comfortable vessel, with outstanding cruising capabilities.
