The "Yorktown" was originally known as "Pilot". She was designed and built as a Pilots Launch boat in Reedville, VA for the Virginia Pilots Association. She served at Cape Henry (mouth of the Chesapeake Bay) and carried Ship Pilots to and from the Commercial Shipping Vessel as they entered the Bay. Low sides and wide side decks, she has 3" thick wooden sides and a 2" think wooden bottom make her solid and steady work platform. With heavy-duty commercial fendering, she was made to lay along the sides of moving ships. For the past several decades she has serviced the Commercial traffic on the York River, as a Crew Launch, Oil Spill Response vessel, Towing Vessel, and Supply Vessel. Often times she has a steel barge on the hip for ship re-supply (Barge also available for sale). Re-Powered in 2009 with a Volvo D9, straight inboard diesel engine with 1850 hrs. The Yorktown is a Big Heavy Workhorse. Also available with her sister vessel (26' Ex Navy Utility Boat "Tue Point" AND a 2007 33' x 10' x 3" Steel Deck Barge), call for details.
