Built by Skeet Perry,the famous and respected boat builder known in both the South Florida and NorthernÃ? California sailing communities. He teamed with Georg Thomas the renowned naval architect and engineerÃ? with extensive experience in the design and engineering ofÃ? free standing wing masts and sailing hulls.Ã? Ã?Â
Ã? TheÃ? design criteria was to create aÃ? quick, short handed, easy to maintain boat with a draft suitable for Biscayne Bay andÃ? has the ability to increaseÃ? upwind performance in deeper water.Ã? EchoÃ? has a carbon, free standing, rotating wing mast.Ã? The mast rotates on aÃ? tapered carbon mandrel (built using an autoclave)Ã? extending from the keelson to approximately 7ft above the deck.Ã? The boat has a light displacement of 9000lbs (3000lbs ballast) with a variable draft keel that is able to sail withÃ? a draft betweenÃ? 4'9" and 6'6".Ã? It carries an asymmetrical spinnakerÃ? on an articulating deck mounted retractable pole and has auxiliary power of two retractable outboards.Ã? Ã? Mainsail is 466 sq. ftÃ? , staysail 235 sq. ft, and spinnakerÃ? 758 sq. ft. Echo's overall length is 39' withÃ? beam of 12'.Ã? It hasÃ? a transom hung rudder with tiller steering.Ã? The boat has no complex systems, mechanicals, or rigging to maintain.Ã? Echo had bottom painted in 1/21, recently surveyed and insured.Ã? Ã?Â
