Hurricane was one the last fiberglass Wianno Senior to be built in 2020. She has been lightly used by her current owner who used her for day sailing. The Wianno Senior Class is one of the most strongest one design racing class on Cape Cod drawing world class sailors from all over the country. During the annual Scudder Cup the particiaption can be as many as 25 boats. The design works the best for Nantucket Sound as the boat is able to transition to a shoal draft boat when the centerboard is raised as it allows the skippers to easily navigate the local harbors without touching bottom.

She has been beautifully maintained by EM Boatworks and primarily sailed out of Hyannis Port, MA. Class History. The Wianno Senior Knockabout has been racing on Nantucket Sound since the summer of 1914. The boat was designed as a day sailor for summer residents of WIanno and has remained the principal one-design class of the Wianno Yacht Club since the first summer. Additional fleets were subsequently organized at the Hyannis, Hyannis Port, Bass River and Stone Horse Yacht Clubs. The Stone Horse Yacht Club fleet has been inactive in recent years. In addition to sponsoring regular races during the summer months for their members, the four active Clubs sponsor inter-club regattas held on two weekends each year which, together with the Edgartown Yacht Club Regatta, currently comprise the Scudder Cup Series of races.
