Wind Belle is an outstanding example of a Contest 32, one of the best center cockpit designs around. Contest is a Dutch manufacturer of the highest quality yachts and it shows throughout this vessel. She has been cared for properly by knowledgeable owners and she shows well. Two features stand out: 1) her interior space and layout, and 2) her sailing performance.

The Volvo engine has been surveyed and determined to be in need of rebuilding, so the Seller has reduced the price $4,000.00 with this in mind.

It's rare that one of these boats comes on the market - and this is one of the best. OFFERS ARE ENCOURAGED.

The Biggest Pros and Cons

Pros

Robust Design: The Contest Center Cockpit Ketch is known for its strong, well-engineered hull, which provides excellent performance and seaworthiness, making it suitable for long passages and offshore cruising.

Spacious Layout: The center cockpit design allows for a spacious interior, offering plenty of headroom and comfortable living spaces. The layout is often praised for its functionality and livability.

Versatility: As a ketch, this boat offers versatility in sail configuration. The two-mast setup allows for easier handling of sails, particularly in varying wind conditions, making it ideal for both experienced sailors and those newer to sailing.

Safety Features: The center cockpit design enhances safety by placing the helm higher and more centrally, allowing for better visibility and shelter from the elements while sailing.

Quality Construction: Contest yachts are renowned for their high-quality craftsmanship, with attention to detail evident throughout the design and build. The use of durable materials contributes to the boat's longevity.

Good Storage: Ample storage solutions throughout the boat make it practical for extended cruising, allowing for easy stowage of provisions, gear, and personal items.

Cons

Weight and Speed: The robust construction, while offering durability, can result in a heavier vessel. This might translate to slower speeds compared to lighter, performance-oriented yachts.

Maintenance: Owning a yacht, especially one that is older, requires regular maintenance. Parts may be harder to find, and systems can require more attention than newer models.

Sail Handling Complexity: While the ketch rig provides versatility, it can also complicate sail handling for inexperienced sailors, with an additional sail to manage compared to a sloop rig.

Aging Systems: Depending on previous ownership, some systems may be outdated or in need of upgrading, which could require additional investment and effort from the owner.

Cost: As a high-quality, well-built vessel, the initial purchase price may be higher compared to other similar-sized yachts, potentially placing it out of reach for some buyers.

Limited Availability: Being a specific model, fewer units of the Contest Center Cockpit Ketch may be available on the market at any given time, which can limit options for prospective buyers.
