PLEASE NOTE; The mechanic who tested the engine in July 2022 said it started right off from cold and functioned normally. He also attested to the quality and solid reputation of this particular model and noted that it had acquired 54,000 hours of use at the time of the rebuild in 2011. She now has about 15,000 hours plus.

Bait-house aft. General Arrangements Below Deck (Forward to Aft) Forecastle with 7 bunks and galley. Engine room. Fish hold. Lazarette (bait storage). Enclosed stern extension (above the waterline). Tank Arrangements Freshwater tank under the forecastle floor. Tanks for the hydraulic and steering systems in the engine room. 4 Fuel tanks (2 in the engine room / 2 abaft the fish hold)

MAJOR REFIT / BACKGROUND INFORMATION 'Nova Blue' has been under refit at Dixon's Shipyard since 2020. This work included repairs and upgrades to existing systems and the installation of new systems including new gear and equipment for swordfish and halibut longline fisheries. The refit was completed under the direction of Dixon's Shipyard and involved other repairers and contractors. We discussed the refit in detail with the foreman at Dixon's and representatives of the following companies:

T & T Marine Services Mechanics from this local Mitsubishi dealer have serviced the powertrain over the years, including the main engine rebuild in 2011 (approx. year) and the recent supply and installation of the new 65 kW gen-set. We confirmed that a mechanic from this company was onboard in July 2022 and had the main engine operating.

Hines Marine Services Ltd. Supplied and installed the new electronics package. Newfie's Painting Services This company removed redundant gear and equipment from all compartments, completed considerable fibreglass reconstruction in certain areas (lazarette interior, etc.) and repainted the vessel from stem to stern. They replaced the hull fendering, a large section of the portside bulwark rail and made repairs in the deckhouse. They also installed the ice maker and AC system and completed other misc. repairs and upgrades.

REFIT DOCUMENTATION Most of the repair slips for the refit are attached in the Appendix (12.0).

LIST OF REPAIRS & UPGRADES (SUMMARY) ➢ New electronics package. ➢ New fiberglass composite bait-house aft. New portside deckhouse extension. New floor in the lazarette. New generator room on deck. ➢ New Lingred-Pitman super-spool swordfish drum (new monofilament line) and line setter. New 14" line hauler and derrick. New hydraulic hoses to the deck gear. New roof mounted gear cages and misc. new swordfish gear. ➢ New marine grade wheelhouse windows and doors. Wheelhouse and galley interiors refurbished and painted. ➢ New high output Kohler gen-set with all new wiring and keel cooling pipes. Localized upgrades to existing electrical system.➢ New LED deck lights and 4 crab lights. New navigation lights and panel. New interior lights in the wheelhouse and forecastle. ➢ New main engine cooling pipes. New stays and x-tree on spar. New steering gear. New 2-ton seawater flake ice machine. ➢ Domestic systems upgrade (new galley appliances, new Dometec AC unit, refurbished washroom with new fixtures and new mattresses for the bunks). ➢ Outer hull and all topsides professionally painted. New PVC hull fendering.

NOTABLE PAST REPAIRS 2010 (Approx. year) Aft section of the work deck replaced. New aft fuel tanks. 2011 (Approx. year) Main engine and marine gear overhauled (full rebuilds). New Kubota gen-set.

FIBREGLASS HULL Hull Construction Solid fibreglass round chine displacement hull. Bilge keels (anti-roll) were fitted along both sides. Externally fibreglassed plywood transverse bulkheads and fibreglass encapsulated hull stiffeners

Hull Exterior Condition (Structural) The outer hull laminates and were in good overall condition. The base of the keel was smooth with no evidence of past grounding damages (steel skeg aft). Hull Exterior Condition (Cosmetic) The hull coatings were in excellent condition (clean and professionally painted topsides with black antifouling on the underwater hull). Underwater Hull Maintenance New anodes. Protective Hull Fendering New PVC fendering well installed along the upper hull sides. Hull Interior Condition The primary bulkheads and inner hull primary and secondary laminations were in good condition where exposed (no significant cracks or delamination Issues).

DECKS Forward Deck The original forward deck (over the forecastle) was in average overall condition for age where exposed. Work Deck The work deck was in average overall condition for age where exposed (random areas of minor delamination of the fibreglass sheathing (on top). The aft section of the deck (abaft the aft fish hold bulkhead) was replaced on or about 2010.

SUPERSTRUCTURE Wheelhouse The original wheelhouse was in average overall condition for age (there was delamination and probable water saturated woodwork along the portside). New windows were installed during the refit. Deckhouse with Portside Extension The mostly original deckhouse was in average overall condition for age (some delamination along the roof and along the portside). The portside extension (with bait tables) was installed new during the refit.

Bait-House Aft New well built fibreglass composite (no plywood) 13-foot bait-house aft (with bait tables). 3.5 FISH HOLD Layout and Condition The insulated and refrigerated fish hold was designed with 5 pens per side and alleyway and is approx. 17.6 feet long x 6.0 feet average depth. The fish hold was clean and well painted and has a full complement of aluminum pen-boards. Aluminum plate hatches were fitted over the run. A percussion test of the pen partitions (plywood externally fibreglassed) revealed random areas of delamination (in average overall condition for age). Refrigeration System Refrigeration system for the fish hold and lazarete (cooling pipes with engine driven compressor).

New Ice Maker New Fahrentec 2-ton seawater flake ice machine (system components in the deckhouse portside - ice routed down to the forward portside fish hold pen).

WHEELHOUSE - ACCOMM. / DOMESTIC SERVICES 4.1 WHEELHOUSE & FORCASTLE INTERIORS / CONDITION The wood paneled wheelhouse interior was freshly painted and in good overall condition. A new captain's chair was installed at the helm. The forecastle was finished with wood framed bunks, galley cabinets, bench seats with ample storage lockers and panelled ceiling (freshly painted and in good condition). Husbandry (housecleaning) in both compartments was in excellent condition (clean and presentable).

BUNKS (8) Day bunk in the wheelhouse on the portside. 7 Bunks in the forecastle forward (new mattresses).

AIR CONDITIONING New Dometec 27,000 btu air conditioning system (services the wheelhouse and forecastle). This is also a heating system.

GALLEY APPLIANCES (NO PROPANE) All new galley appliances (electric flattop range, fridge and microwave oven). There was no propane gas or propane appliances onboard.

WASHROOM Recently refurbished washroom on deck with new marine head, sink and shower.

FRESHWATER SYSTEM Freshwater tank under the forecastle floor (not viewed). The freshwater system was fitted with an inline pump, pressure tank and new hot water heater.

MAIN ENGINE Make - Model / HP Mitsubishi S6A2MPTA 425 HP @ 1940 rpm Year Built / Installed 1992 Serial No. 23965 Last Overhaul 2011 (approx. year). Engine Hours 15,000 hours approx. (reported since last overhaul). Cooling System Keel cooling pipes (new in 2020). Engine Controls Morse controls (remote controls at the forward hauling station). Eng. Alarm System Panel alarms for high coolant temperature, low coolant level and low oil pressure. E/R Ventilation Adequate ventilation (natural draft and electric blower).

Exhaust System The dry exhaust system was well secured, lagged and adequately spaced from the surrounding combustibles. The steel pipe was not viewed with the lagging off. The stainless-steel muffler on the roof was in good visible condition (should have a rain bucket over the outlet). Condition & Service History The main engine was in good visible condition (well painted and clean with a small area of light surface rust). The base oil was clean and up to level on the dipstick. We confirmed with the local Mitsubishi dealer (T & T Marine Services) that the engine was removed from the vessel had a complete overhaul on or about 2011 (heads rebuilt, new cylinder kits and bearings, crankshaft checked, etc.). Engine Room Husbandry Engine room husbandry (housecleaning) was in good standing (clean and presentable).

MARINE GEAR (TRANSMISSION) Make - Model ZF Marine IRM350P Year Built / Gear Ratio / Serial No. 1992 / 4.536 / 350.1415 Compatibility with Main Engine The marine gear was adequately sized for the main engine horsepower. Condition / Maintenance History The marine gear was in good visible condition (well painted and clean). The base oil was clean and up to level on the dipstick. We confirmed that the marine gear was overhauled the same time as the engine by an authorised ZF mechanic.

FUEL SYSTEM Forward Fuel Tanks / Condition 2 x 600 imp. gallons (approx.) steel fuel tanks with cleanouts in the engine room (port and starboard). The fuel tanks were well painted with no rust coverage where readily accessible (only the inboard sides were exposed). These tanks are original equipment and have most likely been internally examined during a past Transport Canada safety inspection.

Aft Fuel Tanks / Condition 2 x 900 imp. gallons (approx.) steel fuel tanks with cleanouts in the engine room (port and starboard). The fuel tanks were well painted with no rust coverage where readily accessible (only the inboard sides were exposed). These tanks were installed new in 2010 (approx. year). Fuel Capacity The tanks could not be measured (for capacity) during the survey. Tank capacities were confirmed by the longstanding past owner (he also confirmed that the aft tanks had been replaced).

Front Tanks - 2 x 600 imp. gallons. ➢ Aft Tanks - 2 x 900 imp gallons. ➢ Total Capacity - 3,000 Imp. gallons / 3,602 US gallons / 13,638 Litres Other Fuel System Components The fuel system was configured with Transport Canada approved fuel lines, fittings, tank shutoffs, emergency remote shutoffs and Racor water-separator systems. These items were in good condition where readily accessible and exposed. 5.4

DRIVETRAIN EQUIPMENT List of Drivetrain Components - 4" Steel intermediate shaft with 2 steady bearings. 4" Stainless-steel tailshaft. - Aft engine room bulkhead shaft gland and stern gland (drip type). - Fibreglass stern tube and cutlass bearing. - 4-Blade 54"/38" RH propeller (in good condition). - Steel rudder with stainless-steel rudderstock and packing gland. - Dual ram steering gear with hydraulic fittings and hoses (new installation with custom enclosure)

KVH Satellite TV system with 2 big screen TV's. KVH V3HTS satellite internet system. ATA seawater temperature recorder. CLS 'black box' (vessel position recording device). Watch alarm. Remote monitoring system with helm display and cameras (4) in the engine room and on deck. High end Kenwood - Kicker car stereo system with satellite radio, external amplifier and speakers in the accommodations and on deck. Hook and buoy counter (operates off tone signals from controls in the bait-house). 14 Fishing beacons for highflyers. Comments Full featured electronics package with all recent models. With a few minor exceptions, all items were installed new in 2020 (installed and tested - not used at sea).

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM Survey Limitations The following evaluation was based upon a visual examination of the wiring and other electrical system components where readily accessible and exposed. The system was not tested. Shore-power was connected and some interior lights were on. A more comprehensive analysis is beyond the scope of this report.

GEN-SET NO.1 High-Capacity Gen-Set New high-capacity 65 kW gen-set installed in a dedicated room forward on deck. GEN-SET NO. 2 Make - Model Kubota D1005 Year Built / Hours of Use 2011 (approx.) / 501 Hours Exhaust System / Cooling Dry exhaust system and keel pipes (well installed). Generator Particulars Generator ID tag not readily accessible (10 kW est. output). Condition The gen-set was clean and in good visible condition (notably low hours of use since installation). OTHER VOLTAGE SYSTEMS & COMPONENTS 24-Volts DC (Main Batteries) 4 x 12-Volt large case marine batteries (2 banks) with dedicated engine alternator. The batteries were well secured in a suitable battery box with cover.

12-Volts DC 12-Volt batteries (starting gen-sets). 2 Converters (for certain electronics). Main Distribution & Switching Transport Canada approved DC and AC distribution panels and other switching. Navigation light panel with 'burnt bulb' alerts. There were localized upgrades to the existing electrical system during the refit (including new auxiliary panels). All new wiring and switching was installed for the new gen-set. 115-Volts AC (DC to AC) Outback marine inverter for miscellaneous AC power. Shore-Power System 30 Amp. shore-power system (recently refurbished). GENERAL COMMENTS The electrical system was well installed with marine grade components. The electrical for the new gen-set and ice machine were not completed at the time of the survey.

HYDRAULIC SYSTEM Survey Limitations The following evaluation was based upon a visual examination of the hydraulic system cone and deck gear where readily accessible and exposed. The system could not be tested during the survey. Configuration Marine gear driven hydraulic gear pump with marine grade hydraulic hoses, fittings, selector valves and inline cooler (new hydraulic hoses to the deck gear). Secondary hydraulic vane pump (belt driven off the front of the main engine). The drive belt was not installed. New Gen-Set Switching DC Main Distribution RECOMMENDATION Jameson Theriault - Marine Surveys Marine Survey - F/V 'Nova Blue' 20 Hydraulic Deck Gear - New Lingred-Pitman super-spool swordfish drum with line setter. - New 14" line hauler (for halibut trawl). - Pullmaster PL2 cargo winch (2000 lb. capacity) on the boom. All items were well installed.

RIGGING / MOORING GEAR Roof mounted aluminium spar with new heavy-duty x-tree. Roof mounted aluminium boom with safety chain and new block - tackle. New roof mounted aluminum derrick. The rigging was suitably sized and well secured. The stays and rigging connections were in good visible condition where readily accessible and exposed (new cable stays). The rigging and connections were not viewed aloft. Samson Post bow bit with suitable mooring cleats aft on both sides.

DECK HATCHES Marine skylight / escape hatch on the forward deck with raised coaming. Lockable aluminum hatch over the fish hold access with suitable raised coaming. Galvanized steel manhole cover over the lazarette - suitable raised coaming with storm cover. The hatches were in good condition and are suitable for offshore use.

LIGHTS FOR NIGHT FISHING - 3 Forward facing and 1 starboard facing 1500-watt AC crab lights (new installation). Roof mounted searchlight. - Multiple LED floodlights for the hauling stations and work deck (new installations).

OTHER DECK GEAR New roof mounted aluminum gear cages and highflyer rack. Swordfish door in the starboard bulwark. Ample bait tables in the bait-house and deckhouse extension. Aluminum pipe rack fitted at the starboard bulwark (work deck).

BILGE PUMPING SYSTEMS 2 General Service Pumps (High-Capacity) 2" Hydraulically driven Pacer general service pump. 2" Jabsco belt driven general service pump (temporarily disconnected at the engine). Purposes Both pumps are plumbed to same manifold with suctions routed to the forward bilge, engine room bilge and aft bilge.Both pumps can be used for wash-down or fire hose (via deck hose). Back-Flooding Protection The bilge suctions were valved and the manifold was fitted with non-return valves to reduce the risk of accidental back-flooding. Bilge Suction Identification The bilge suctions should be identified (labelled) at the distribution valves (FWD, E/R & F/H). Electric (DC) Submersible Bilge Pumps Rule DC electric submersible pumps were fitted in the engine room bilge and fish hold bilge. Bilge Pumping Capacity The vessel has ample pumping capacity for everyday use and emergency use.

VALVED UNDERWATER THRU-HULL FITTINGS The valved underwater thru-hull fittings were installed with marine grade components and were in good condition where exposed. These fittings were serviced during the recent refit.

EMERGENCY LIFE SAVING EQUIPMENT No Life Raft Onboard The 2 life rafts were removed for service (reinstallation was pending). E.P.I.R.B. The installation of a roof mounted - self detaching E.P.I.R.B. was pending. Emergency Flares No emergency flares sighted.
