Backstory on Oasis, Columbia 50'
This boat was custom built in 1993 by a wealthy guy who wanted a new Columbia 50, so he found the guys with the molds and rented a warehouse in Wilmington to lay up the hull. The deck is a 52' racing cap deck that was never used by Columbia, but the owner wanted that style, so he had them lay up the 52' deck, then customized it by cutting it down to fit the 50' hull. The interior was a design the builder and owner decided on which was done by a local builder.
Hull sides painted in 2010
Accommodations
Sleeps 6, with a very open and airy cabin layout. All the way forward is a king size berth with overhead deck hatch. There are storage cabinets port and starboard and cedar lined hanging locker. The ensuite head with tub/shower is to starboard and features mirrored storage cabinet over sink, large 5' dressing area, lighted cedar lined hanging locker and deck hatch over shower.
Proceeding aft to the salon on starboard is a L-shaped 6'6" settee. To port is a 6'6" single settee. There are storage cabinets above both dinette and settee. Two large deck hatches over the salon area.
Up from the salon one step to the galley. The U shape galley is very spacious and open with windows overhead and next to the companion way hatch for great air flow. Lots of counter top space. The counter tops are a very attractive blue tile. This is a well thought out layout for an underway galley.
Opposite the galley is the navigation station with a comfortable upholstered seat and map size table.
Proceeding aft to the large aft cabin. There is an athwartship double berth, ensuite head, vanity and mirrored cabinets.
The cabin sole throughout is teak and holly and in excellent condition. White interior cabinetry with mahogany trim. The upholstery is blue velour. Headroom 6'2".
