1954 Chris-Craft Sportsman 17' with a K-95HP engine. The engine was rebuilt in 2017 with new valves, valve guides, and springs, a reground crankshaft, new oversized bearings, honed cylinder walls, and new piston rings.
In 2017, the 3M 5200 bottom was added, and the boat was also re-varnished in 2017
Additional restoration and maintenance completed in 2023 included removing the boat name and revarnishing the transom, sanding and repainting the bottom and waterline stripe, sanding and varnishing the cover slats from the top deck to the transom, sanding, epoxying, and repainting the steering wheel, replacing the starboard trailer runner, recaulking the strut, adding four cleats, and replacing the cast-iron exhaust elbow with a bronze unit. A new battery was installed in 2024.
A 1954 Chris-Craft boat uses a 6-volt, standard rotation generator manufactured to match the Chris-Craft Hercules-based engines, such as the Model K (95 hp).
The boat comes with a canvas cover, spotlight, convertible bimini top, side curtains, and a 2010 single-axle trailer. This is a well-maintained classic Chris-Craft that has benefited from significant mechanical and cosmetic restoration while retaining its original character.
