ECLIPSE is a 2007 Chris-Craft Roamer 40 with the Heritage Package Factory Option- teak accents from the bow seating through to the swim platform, varnished wood handrails and trim, and the flared bow and foredeck sun pad that define the Roamer's classic profile. Twin Volvo IPS 500 D6-370 diesel pod drives put 740 combined horsepower through the water, cruising at 21 knots with a 400-gallon fuel capacity aboard. Engine hours are logged at 1,069 on both. Joystick docking control makes tight-quarter maneuvering simple.
Below deck, the two-stateroom, two-head layout makes good use of 43 feet LOA. The salon runs cherry and maple joinery throughout with stainless-steel-framed windows the full length of the cabin, Bose surround sound, and hardwood sole. The master stateroom forward has a walk-around berth and private ensuite with circular fiberglass shower. The VIP stateroom aft carries twin singles with its own privacy door to the guest head. The full galley is equipped with a Kenyon glass-top electric cooktop, convection microwave, refrigerator, and separate undercounter freezer. Window covering, bedspreads, pillows, headliner in salon and forward stateroom all replaced.
On deck: teak cockpit sole, L-shaped companion seating, Stidd helm seat, Lofrans electric windlass, Jabsco remote searchlight, and a Brower dinghy davit with power rotation. A 2023 Zodiac 11-foot tender is custom-mounted with removable chocks. Electronics include Raymarine C80 chartplotter/radar, Ray218 VHF, Smart Pilot autopilot, and Zipwake trim tabs. Reverse-cycle A/C serves both staterooms and the salon.

Versatile Deck Space: The exterior deck space provides ample room for relaxation, sunbathing, or entertaining. Features like a swim platform and ample seating enhance the usability of the boat for gatherings on the water.
Cons
Maintenance Needs: The classic wooden elements can require more upkeep compared to modern materials. Regular maintenance of the woodwork and finishes is necessary to preserve the beauty and integrity of the boat.
Fuel Efficiency: While performance is a strong point, larger engines can lead to higher fuel consumption, especially on longer trips, which may be a concern for those seeking cost-effective cruising.
Size Limitations: While the 40-foot length provides ample space, it may not accommodate larger parties as comfortably as larger yachts. Those who frequently entertain large groups may find the space limiting.
Availability of Parts: As a model that is less common in the current market, sourcing replacement parts or specific accessories may be more challenging than with more widely produced modern vessels.
Steeper Entry Cost: The initial investment for a Chris-Craft Roamer 40 can be significant. Potential buyers should consider their budget and overall investment versus long-term enjoyment.
