**Full of life and History** "Herkananda" a 1940 Chris Craft 25' semi enclosed cruiser also known as "Green and White". She was originally purchased in 1941 at Irwin Marine in Weirs beach NH (Irwin Gardens) now known as The Winnipesaukee Pier. Her name came from the initials of the original owners 4 children. This boat was introduced into the world shortly after the Great Depression. The original retail price was $1,695. This was almost twice the price of an original automobile! Irwin Marne then resold this boat to the next owner, who owned it from 6/10/1953 until 1965, it was then sold to his son who owned it from 1965 until recently. For roughly 15 years she spent her time on Squam Lake. "Herk" then moved back to Lake Winnipesaukee in the 1960's where she was dry docked at Channel Marine. She sat in storage there until the mid 1980's and was then moved to a boat house in the Weirs. There has been no expense spared with this boat. The most recent restoration was in 2018; the bottom of the boat was re-finished. There was no rot, and all the wood was in good shape, cotton chinking was installed between each plank with bedding compound on top, and two coats of bottom paint were applied. The entire boat was re-painted in 2018 as well. Originally, she was powered by a Chris Craft motor, somewhere between 1940 and 1953 the motor was changed to a Gray Performance 104hp. I have access to a bunch of advertisements, supporting documents, and the bill of sale from 1953. Shes is fun, comfortable, and a looker! Open to offers and trades!
