This beautifully maintained 1957 Chris-Craft 38 Constellation is presented in its original configuration and reflecting the timeless styling that made these classic motoryachts an enduring favorite. With graceful lines, rich woodwork, and unmistakable Chris-Craft craftsmanship, this vessel captures the character of a bygone era while providing the comforts needed for enjoyable cruising today.
Power comes from the original twin Chris-Craft 427-25 V8 gasoline engines, each producing 300 horsepower and paired with dependable Paragon transmissions. The engines feature keel cooling with wet exhaust and have approximately 400 hours, providing reliable performance for cruising, sightseeing, and weekend excursions.
The spacious layout makes excellent use of the 38-foot hull. A large aft deck offers an inviting space for relaxing, entertaining, or enjoying time at anchor before stepping into the bright salon, where classic wood finishes create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The galley is equipped with an Origo two-burner stove that operates on either 12-volt power or alcohol, while the dinette and salon provide comfortable accommodations for meals or evenings aboard. The forward stateroom and convertible sleeping areas allow the boat to comfortably sleep four.
The vessel is equipped with a 128-gallon freshwater capacity supported by an 18-gallon hot water tank. The marine head is plumbed to a Lectra-San treatment system with overboard discharge where permitted.
Electrical power is provided by four Group 27 and two Group 24 12-volt wet-cell batteries arranged in three 12-volt banks, supported by shore power, an inverter, a Balmar MK 210D battery charger, and an Onan 7.5 KW gasoline generator, providing flexibility whether underway, at anchor, or in the marina.
Navigation equipment includes a depth sounder, knot meter, and chart plotter. Safety equipment includes Type II dry chemical fire extinguishers along with an automatic Halon 1301 engine compartment fire suppression system.
The boat is also equipped with a swim step and boarding ladder, Magma barbecue, television/DVD system, two anchors with chain and nylon rode, and two spare propellers.
Whether admired at the dock or underway, this 1957 Chris-Craft 38 Constellation consistently draws attention with its elegant profile and authentic appearance. It offers generous space in the salon, cockpit, and aft deck, making it equally enjoyable for day cruising, overnight stays, or sharing the experience of classic boating with family and friends. This is an opportunity to own a well-preserved example of one of Chris-Craft's most recognizable post-war motoryachts.
