A rare chance to own a true antique classic Chris-Craft. This 1932 Chris-Craft Model 301 18' split cockpit runabout, purchased new and cherished by the same family for 93 years, carries a legacy of love and adventure. Originally gifted as a wedding present, the boat spent 68 summers at the family's Muskoka Lakes Island cottage in Canada before relocating to Watch Hill, Rhode Island, where it remained in the family's care for two more decades. Named "Highland Queen" after their favorite Scotch whiskey enjoyed during Prohibition, she has always been meticulously maintained.
Her bottom was replaced in 2001, ensuring durability, and she remains tight and well-kept. The original Chris-Craft Marine 4-cylinder engine was upgraded to a powerful 327 small-block V8, refreshed in 2023, providing enhanced performance for six passengers. With over 90% of her original planking and all original hardware intact, she is mechanically excellent, runs strong and ready for the next stewardship. While fully operational as is, she awaits revarnishing to reclaim her show-worthy glory.
After the passing of the last family member who regularly used her, his wife sought to ensure that the next steward would appreciate Highland Queen's rich history and preserve her as the treasured heirloom she is.
Included in the sale are two mooring covers, Chris-Craft Owner's Manual, service records highlighting the extensive maintenance received over the years, and a 2023 Tidewater aluminum trailer.
