Introduced as a replacement for the aging Chris Craft 28 Catalinaââ?¬â??and built on the 28 Catalinaââ?¬â?¢s hullââ?¬â??the Chris Craft 292 Sunbridge is a versatile family boat with a still-attractive profile and an unusually spacious cockpit for a 29-foot cruiser. (Note that the deckhouse is set well forward on the deck to allow space aft for the large cockpit.) The hull is solid fiberglass, and a wide beam results in a fairly roomy interior. The single-level floorplan is almost the same as the older 28 Catalina with berths for six and good headroom throughout. The (very) small galley will handle most basic food-prep necessities, and the standup head compartment is equipped with a shower. Topside, the flybridge has seating for the helmsman and up to four guests. Lift-out hatches in the cockpit sole provide good access to the engine compartment. Topside, the flybridge is arranged with the helm forward and seating for four. An efficient performer with a pair of 220hp Crusader gas engines, the Chris Craft 292 Sunbridge will cruise easily at 19 knots at just 17 gallons per hourââ?¬â??excellent economy indeed. The top speed is about 28ââ?¬â??29 knots depending upon the load.
