This 2022 Chittum Islamorada 18 Snake Bight Performance, now known in the Chittum lineup as the 18R, is a high-end, 100% carbon fiber technical poling skiff built for serious shallow-water fishing. This boat was custom built by her original owner for tarpon fly fishing in the Keys and pairs Chittum's fast 12-degree deadrise running-pad hull with a Mercury 115 Pro XS for exceptional shallow-water capability and upper-end performance.

This is a rare opportunity to step into a premium carbon Chittum without the new-build wait. The Islamorada 18R is known for combining a true technical poling platform with impressive speed, range, and open-water capability for its class. With the Mercury 115 Pro XS, Bob's hydraulic jack plate, Chittum carbon fiber trim tabs, and large running pad, this skiff is quick, efficient, and designed to air out beautifully when trimmed correctly.

The boat is powered by a Mercury 115 Pro XS showing 298 hours. Electronics include a Simrad 9" NSS Evo3S, NMEA 2000 engine data, and a thru-hull transducer for sonar and water temperature. The helm is clean and purpose-built with a Yamaha binnacle, integrated trim/jack plate control, Edson steering wheel with power knob, push-button switch panel, and low-profile grab handles on both sides of the console.

The build layout includes the desirable large-center-locker Chittum configuration with extensive visible carbon fiber construction throughout. The forward hatch houses a 32-gallon fuel tank, the center hatch provides a massive open storage compartment, and the aft section includes the rear bilge/rigging compartment and Chittum's small "crustacean crevice" compartment for keeping shrimp or crabs alive. The skiff also features a removable bow casting platform, black powder-coated poling platform with center step, carbon fiber trim tabs, under-gunnel rod storage, console cooler/storage, and clean gray upholstery.

She sits on a custom 2022 Ram-Lin aluminum trailer. The trailer is a fixed-tongue, single-axle aluminum setup with spare tire.

Overall, this Chittum presents very well and shows as a carefully owned, private-use technical skiff. She was not guide-used, though she has seen tournament fishing use in the Keys. As expected on a performance skiff that has been used, there are normal cosmetic wear items including minor gelcoat chips/scuffs, rub rail marks, light trailer/bunk wear, cosmetic oxidation on the trailer wheels, and some wear on the bow light housing.

The 115 Pro XS is paired with a Bob's hydraulic jack plate and Chittum's carbon fiber trim tabs, making this a very performance-oriented setup for an 18-foot technical skiff. The top speed is in the high 50's mph range depending on load and setup.

Electronics / Helm

The helm is clean and purposeful with a Simrad 9" NSS Evo3S, Mercury engine data integration, thru-hull transducer, Yamaha binnacle, Edson steering wheel with power knob, push-button switch panel, and low-profile grab handles. The Yamaha binnacle is set up to control both engine trim and jack plate, which is a very useful feature when making small running adjustments at speed.

Deck / Fishing Layout

The boat features a removable bow casting platform, large forward deck, three-hatch layout, under-gunnel rod storage, center console cooler/storage, aft cushion, poling platform with center step, removable Rigid Industries forward light bar, and aft bait/crustacean compartment. The skiff is also pre-wired for a trolling motor, but no trolling motor is included.

Trailer

The boat sits on a 2022 Ram-Lin aluminum trailer. The trailer is a fixed-tongue, single-axle setup with spare tire. It does not have brakes. Tires are believed to be original and appear serviceable.
