The PowerBoat Guide had this to say:
The Signature 300 is mid-tier family cruiser with a roomy cockpit and an upscale, very comfortable interior. Like many Chaparral cruisers, she's constructed on a modified-V hull with a solid fiberglass bottom, moderate beam and an integral swim platform. While the Signature's mid-cabin interior is similar to many other 30-footers, the quality of the hardware, woodwork and upholstery is immediately evident. The roomy aft cabin, with its convertible settee and removable dinette table, is definitely the master stateroom in this boat with far more amenities than the forward berth. The cockpit seats six and includes a double helm seat, a U-shaped settee aft (which converts into a big sun pad), and a wet bar. The aft bench seat can be folded away to free up some cockpit space, and a gas-assist hatch provides easy access to the engine compartment. Additional features include a transom shower, walk-through windshield (there are no side decks), cockpit lighting and five opening ports. Among several engine options, twin 250hp Volvo sterndrive gas engines cruise the Signature 300 in the mid to high 20s (around 40 knots top).

Cons
Age-related Maintenance: Being a 1998 model, potential buyers should be aware of the wear and tear that comes with age. Regular maintenance and possible upgrades may be necessary to keep it in top condition.
Limited Storage: While it offers a good amount of living space, some users may find that overall storage can be limited for extended trips, particularly if accommodating fishing gear or large items.
Fuel Consumption: The twin engine setup, while enhancing performance, can lead to higher fuel consumption compared to smaller vessels, which may be a consideration for budget-conscious boaters.
Older Technology: Depending on previous upgrades, certain onboard electronics and navigational systems may be outdated, which could necessitate further investment for those seeking modern features.
Slower Speed Compared to Lighter Boats: While the Signature 300 is stable and reliable, it may not match the speed of lighter, smaller cruisers, which could be a factor for those who prioritize quick travel.
