The 2011 Chaparral 287 SSX has lived indoors on a dry rack at a Tarpon Springs marina rather than in a wet slip. The bottom is original gelcoat and has never been painted, so there is no paint system for a new owner to strip or maintain. Upholstery, deck and helm are clean throughout, as the photos show. VOLVO PENTA 8.1GI ENGINE AND DUOPROP DRIVE

Power on this 2011 Chaparral 287 SSX is a single Volvo Penta 8.1Gi gas V8 with a Volvo Penta DuoProp drive running twin counter rotating stainless props. The helm hour meter read 675 hours in November 2026. Exhaust work was recently completed and is obvious on inspection of the engine compartment; no receipts are available for it. A power engine hatch gives full access to the 8.1 for service. On the Sea Trial the ran great with a recorded top speed of 45.2 mph.

HELM, ELECTRONICS AND AUDIO

The Chaparral 287 SSX helm carries a Garmin GPSmap 541s chartplotter and sounder with depth and water temperature, a Garmin VHF radio, digital engine gauges, Lenco trim tabs with indicators, tilt steering and power steering. Switch panels cover docking lights, underwater lights, courtesy lights, navigation and anchor lights, windshield wiper and horn. A Clarion stereo runs the system from the helm with a second Clarion remote in the head, and all speakers have been replaced with new JL Audio marine speakers throughout the bow and cockpit.

SAFETY AND ELECTRICAL

This 2011 Chaparral 287 SSX has an automatic Halon fire suppression system in the engine compartment with a status light at the helm. The electrical panel includes dual batteries with an emergency parallel switch and a voltage sensitive relay, a two bank battery charger, galvanic isolator, carbon monoxide monitor, and forward and aft automatic bilge pumps.

COCKPIT, BOW AND HEAD

The Chaparral 287 SSX cockpit has a double wide helm seat, a port companion seat, a U shaped aft lounge with a flip backrest, and a wet bar with a sink, solid surface top and a pull out cooler below. The bow seats several people on wraparound lounges with flip up backrests, and has its own boarding ladder in the anchor locker. There is in floor storage in the cockpit, a lockable glove box, and blue LED courtesy lighting. The enclosed head behind the port console has a marine toilet, a stainless vessel sink on a solid surface counter, an opening portlight and a teak and holly style sole. A navy bimini top mounts to the arch, and a walk through transom leads to the integrated swim platform and stern boarding ladder.
