The Biggest Pros and Cons
The 2004 Century 1901 is a versatile and reliable center console boat that caters to both fishing enthusiasts and recreational boaters. Here’s a breakdown of its pros and cons:
Pros
Sturdy Construction: The Century brand is known for its durable build quality, and the 1901 is no exception. Its solid fiberglass hull offers good performance and stability on the water.
Versatile Design: The center console layout allows for easy movement around the boat, making it ideal for fishing, swimming, or simply enjoying a day on the water. There’s ample space for equipment and gear.
Fishing Features: Equipped with features such as rod holders, a livewell, and adequate storage, the Century 1901 is built with the fisherman in mind. It also has features for accessing shallow waters, making it great for inshore fishing.
Compact Size: The 19-foot length makes it easy to tow and launch, ideal for both novice and experienced boaters. It's manageable in terms of docking and maneuverability.
Efficient Performance: With the right engine configuration, the Century 1901 offers good fuel efficiency and reasonable speed, making it suitable for longer trips without a significant impact on fuel costs.
Cons
Limited Space: While the center console design offers versatility, the space can feel a bit cramped, especially when accommodating more passengers or gear.
Basic Amenities: Compared to larger or more modern boats, the amenities on the 1901 may seem basic. It lacks some of the luxury features found in higher-end models, which might not appeal to those seeking a more upscale experience.
Older Model: Being a 2004 model, the Century 1901 may not have the latest technology or features that newer boats offer, such as advanced electronics or improved fuel efficiency.
Maintenance Needs: Older boats may require more frequent maintenance, and finding replacement parts may be challenging depending on availability.
Weight Limitations: Given its size, there are limitations to how much weight it can carry, which could be a concern for larger groups or heavy gear.
