Introduced in 1993 as the 440 Aft Cabin, Carver engineers updated this conservatively styled motor yacht in 1997 with a new integral boarding platform and, in the process, re-branded her as the 445 Aft Cabin. She's a big boat on the inside and out, and her unusually spacious salon is among the larger to be found in a boat this size. Built on a solid fiberglass hull with a relatively wide beam and a shallow keel, her two-stateroom, galley-down floorplan is arranged with double berths fore and aft and separate stall showers in both heads. A full-size dinette is opposite the galley, which is fully equipped including a compact washer and dryer set. The aft deck is large enough for deck furniture and entertaining with a full wet bar, icemaker and small refrigerator. The flybridge is also large enough to entertain a small group of friends. Solid wing doors lead from the aft deck to the wide side decks making it very easy to get fore and aft quickly and safely. Boarding is also very easy no matter what type of dock you are berthed in. Additional features include excellent interior headroom, a foredeck sun pad, staircase-style molded boarding steps built into the integral swim platform which has a fixed storage locker for fenders and dock lines. A Brief Walk-Through...

Be prepared to fall in love with this elegant lady from the moment you step aboard. Whether you board from the platform to the molded steps, or from either side entry, you'll be amazed with her expansiveness and ease to move about. You'll feel comfortable and safe along her wide side decks leading to her large fore deck where you'll find a nice sized sun pad for basking in the sun's rays. Line handling is safe, and anchoring can be done using the foot controlled windlass, or done by the remote control from the helm.

Coming back to the aft deck, you'll see an expansive space for relaxing beneath the hard top and entertaining your guests. There's a wet bar with ice maker and freezer for keeping the refreshments cold, and plenty of seating for everybody. Underway, it seems like every one wants to be close to the Captain...so Carver designed this flybridge with room for a small crowd. Plenty of visibility offers the operator safe views all around whether under way or coming and going from the slip. This helm has been nicely appointed with electronics, and is laid out in a logic fashion.

Stepping down into the salon, you'll feel as you've just entered a hotel suite. Her salon is huge, with an L-shaped leather settee to port which converts to sleep two. Catch a movie on the built-in LCD widescreen or relax to your favorite tunes with the ships sound system. Two steps down and you'll find the well appointed galley to starboard featuring a full size refrigerator and everything the ship's chef needs. For service, there is a large U-shaped dinette to port which also converts for additional sleeping space. Just forward, you'll find the laundry closet fitted with a stacked washer and separate dryer. The common entrance to the forward head is found here as well...where you're guests can shower in comfort in the separate shower stall. All the way forward is the VIP stateroom featuring a queen size berth, an abundance of storage space and a private entrance to the head.

Heading back aft through the salon is the entrance to the master stateroom which features a center line queen berth surrounded by plenty of hanging lockers, drawers and cabinets. To port is a sit down, vanity with mirror and lights, and the private head is to starboard, equipped with a large shower stall.

The engine room access is made from the galley through the lift up steps. This is a great feature as there is no need to open the salon floor to get to the ship systems. In the engine room you'll find you have plenty of room to move about and can get to all points of interest very easily. As you'll see int he photos, her engine room is very clean!

The current (second) owners of this beautiful yacht have maintained her very nicely and she shows it. They have enjoyed her very much while gently using her in the fresh waters of the upper Chesapeake Bay with less than 600 hours on her Cummins Diesels.
