The 430 Cockpit MY is basically a Carver 390 MY (1987ââ?¬â??95) with a stretched hull. The extra length of the cockpit gave the 430 a much-improved profile over the 390ââ?¬â?¢s stocky motor yacht appearance, and the extra hull length added a knot or two in speed. Carver packed a lot of living space into the interior of the 430 with double berths in both staterooms, a full dinette, a roomy salon area, and stall showers in both heads. A sliding door in the master stateroom leads directly out to the cockpitââ?¬â??a practical and extremely useful convenience. The foredeck can be fitted with sun pads, and wide side decks make getting around the deckhouse easy and safe. While the cockpit dimensions arenââ?¬â?¢t notably spacious, a transom door and swim platform were standard, and thereââ?¬â?¢s enough room in the cockpit for some diving gear or even a wet bike. Her Twin Cummins 6BTA 5.9 M2/300 HP diesels cruise in the neighborhood of 21 knots and reach a top speed of 24ââ?¬â??25 knots.
