This Cape Dory 28 was originally produced as an "Open Fisherman" model. Unlike others of this make, it has a 200 hp Volvo Diesel instead of the Chrysler V8 gasoline engine. A "Marlin Type" tower was added by the original owner. The tower package includes a radar mount, antenna plates, rod holders, sunshade, lights, tower instrument box, tower controls including hydraulic steering, and a rigid floor. This Cape Dory Sportfisherman also includes outriggers as well as two side chairs. Not pictured is the leaning post in the cockpit.
The vessel was re-powered in 2004 with a new Volvo TAMD 41A Diesel that currently has 1430 hours. The oil and filters have been religiously changed every 100 hours by the owner who has maintained extensive records of everything he's done on the boat over the seventeen years he's owned it.
Electronics include a Furuno color fish-finder, a Datamarine depth-sounder, a Robertson AP 2500 autopilot, a Standard Horizon VHF and a Furuno radar.
