There were 120 of these traditional Carl Alberg designs built from 1980 through 1985.  The Cape Dory 33 is a keel-stepped masthead sloop with powerful lines, a full keel with attached rudder that is easily driven with remarkable tracking characteristics in various wind ranges. She is built for offshore passage making, coastal or inland enjoyment and provides lots of comfort in a lush teak interior of superior joiner work. Her interior is traditional with a double forepeak cabin with a large private head with plenty of cabinets, a hamper, and shower which is just aft on the port side. There is a hanging locker to starboard. The main salon has port & starboard settees with one that extends to a double. There is a fold up table and teak and holly cabin sole.  To starboard of the companionway there is a convenient wet locker. The U-shaped galley is to port with generous working and storage space, with nav station across and a roomy quarter berth just aft. She sleeps a total of six.

Her deck has a wide beam which extends aft for added spaciousness on deck and below. As with all Cape Dory's she is fitted with bronze cleats, chocks, opening ports and other deck hardware.  Her design is pleasing to look at as well as functional. She has been well maintained and everything works. She has a great solid feel and handles well.

She is presently on the hard for the winter and can be seen at Torresen Marine
