This Cape Dory 31 designed by Carl Alberg is a traditional full keel attached-rudder cruising boat. The design is known for being stable and comfortable in heavy air and seas - perfect for sailing in San Francisco Bay and out the Gate. She is ideal for a couple, but she can be easily single handed. For the size, the layout is very accommodating; with at least one sister boat having been used for live aboard purposes. In the last three years, the current owner added a new stove (2023) with an updated propane system (2025), added a new electric head (2023), installed a new water heater (2025), and upgraded the batteries (2025) and Smart Battery charger (2023). Standing rigging was replaced in 2024. The maroon canvas and recent teak refinish make this Cape Dory a stand-out classic beauty on the docks. Text Michelle for an appointment.
The lavish use of teak inside the Cape Dory gives her a rich traditional feel. She has 6’2” headroom. The forward V-berth is a double, and the main salon has two wide settee berths. A bi-leaf table sits on the centerline of the salon with a large overhead hatch providing abundant natural light. The double SS sink, top loading ice box/refrigerator, and gimbaled stove and oven are neatly set in an L-shaped arrangement on the starboard side for efficiency. The enclosed head is aft at the base of the companionway. The head and vanity are spacious for a boat this size and there is a teak grate leading to the shower sump pump. The electric head is new in 2023.
