Ready to pass the torch on this lady. "Spindrift" was commissioned in 1980 by a professional captain and world cruiser as his own personal boat. She was owned by him until 2016, at which time she came into my possession. I planned to restore her but am looking to pass this opportunity along to someone else. She sat in the water on a canal in Ft. Lauderdale for 10 years, then I had her hauled and trucked to St. Augustine, FL, where I began work on her by stripping the bottom and removing all loose pieces to the interior. She does not have a fuel tank and the engine, while it turns over, has not been started or run in years, so I am unsure of its condition.
She's a $40,000 plus boat fully restored. She has a very unique and practical layout, and she's solid and dry. No blisters or soft spots. Her exterior could be restored by painting the deck and wet-sanding the hull.
There is some minor damage to one of the interior bulkheads, just from general age and moisture. All others are in great shape. Her rig and standing rod rigging are in great shape (currently off the boat). Many sails in good condition. She needs new cushions, new hatches and windows, and lots of love.
She is located on private property in St. Augustine, FL, and must be removed by truck. This is easy to arrange. There are some great DIY boatyards in NE Florida where she could be taken.
